Casting performers for the international companies of THE LION KING

SINGERS
Seeking strong male-identifying and female-identifying singers who move very well to be in the ensemble and cover principal roles. Be prepared to sing one brief standard R&B, pop or rock and roll song that shows off your voice and range. Please do not sing material from THE LION KING. No standard Broadway theatre music.

Please be prepared to sing a contemporary Rock/Pop/Gospel song and bring sheet music. A pianist will be provided.

All singers must be prepared for possible recalls on TUESDAY, JANUARY 23. Please be prepared to wait. Please bring photo and resume stapled together.

DANCERS
Seeking strong male-identifying and female-identifying dancers with a modern/ballet dance background-late teens to early 30’s. Some male dancers require strong acrobatic skills.

You must be warmed up and ready by the start time. Bring dance clothes plus flat jazz shoes or bare feet. You may be asked to sing, so please bring a contemporary song that shows off your voice and range. Bring sheet music.

In China, a forward-thinking primary school principal named Zhang has found a creative way to ensure his students stay active and reduce screen time during school hours. Disturbed by the long hours his students spent on their electronic devices, Zhang decided to learn shuffle dancing. He hoped that by mastering the dance himself, he could captivate his students' interests and encourage them to join in. He started teaching them during their break times and it wasn't long before the entire school were off their phones and dancing around the playground.
