I think well groomed eyebrows add definition to the facial structure, they could either age your appearance or make you look more youthful...

If you are like me who can't draw a straight line with a ruler, then you can well imagine the hours I have to invest in when applying my eyebrow gel. I'm happy that it is not permanent, I would have tracks all over my forehead.

Well, in the beauty industry there are always alternatives.
Have you heard of eye brow and eyelash tinting?!
Yes!!!! you can actually tint your eyebrows and eyelashes.

The process is quick, simple and pain free.

Firstly,a patch test must be done on the skin, preferably at the back of the neck with a patch of hair.If there is no reaction for 12 hours; then you are free to reserve your service.

A thick paste is made from the tint cream and mixed with 3% peroxide solution.
A grease barrier is applied around the eyebrow;this is to prevent any unwanted stain from the tint. The brow is brushed with a brow brush to attain desired shape. The tint is then applied against the direction of the hair and then in the direction of the hair. The tint is allowed to set for 3-10 mins. The excess paste is removed with a wet cotton pad and any residue is wiped with a clean, wet cotton pad. The longer the tint is allowed to set, the darker the tint becomes. The colors range from black, brown, grey and blue black.

Eyelash tinting adds volume to the lashes and reduces mascara application.
A light grease barrier is placed on the lower part of the eye bone. A water moistened C shaped eyepad is placed on the barrier. The lashes are untangled with a lash brush and the paste is placed on the lashes whilst the eyes are closed.
Transformation last for 8-15mins.

The paste is carefully removed with wet cotton pads.
Tint residue can occasionally get into the eye and can cause a light tingle. This can easily be remedied by flushing the eye with water or wet cotton pads.

Tint normally last for 2-3 weeks.

If you are allergic to the tint, then Henna would be the perfect alternative for your eyebrow tinting.

With the growing demand for innovation the beauty industry is evolving at w*p speed to satisfy that demand.
The new trend for eyebrows are brow extentions and microblading.
Eyebrow extentions is the attachment of single hairs to the eyebrow.Microblading is a semi permanent tattoo using needles.

Both of which I love to experience .

Events... 04/11/2016

Permit me to introduce the event, THE GLAM LIFE, Women’s fashion, health and beauty trade show scheduled for Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Johnson’s Centre Rodney Bay.

This event focuses on bringing together talented and creative individuals from our Beauty and Fashion industries to celebrate their creativity. It will be a two part event featuring a mini exhibition showcasing spas, Nail designers, makeup artists and suppliers, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of health and beauty products. The second is a runway segment where designers will utilize the stage to showcase their artistic works. These will include designers of Clothing, Jewelry, Bags as well as Hair Dressers.

Every participant will have the opportunity to advertise their products or services in an effort to attract new clients and make valuable business connections which will be beneficial in the future. We can all use this experience not only to promote ourselves but more so to promote and encourage each other.

The evening will begin with a cocktail gathering, during which time patrons will get the opportunity to mingle and view the different products and services on display.

The runway segment will be laced with dance and musical performances throughout the evening. This should limit some of the backstage chaos and afford designers and models more preparation time.

This is a brief overview. However, as expected, there is still a great deal of planning to be done and an update will be forwarded as it becomes available.

I take this opportunity to welcome you as part of the team and look forward to a fun and successful event.

Spa ED You Need 07/10/2016

When I performed spa therapies my second favorite service was intimate waxing. Don't ask me why! but it was always the high light of my hectic schedule.

With the growing trend of intimate waxing, both men and women should be very thorough and cautious when choosing a specialist and salon/spa.

Here are a few tips:

1)Make sure that your specialist is certified and qualified to perform the service. Do not be shy to enquire about certification.

2) Sanitation, Hygiene and Cleanliness:

a)your specialist is well presented in appearance and welcoming.

b)the salon/spa is sanitized and disinfected with a relaxing ambiance.

c)the service room is clean and does not reflect previous client; clean sheets, new spatulas, no wax drip on the pot, all waxing tools and products are sanitized and clean,no unsightly bins.

3)Consultation. Your specialist should review in detail your service. Answer any questions and reservations that you have. Document medical history related to the service and all personal information should be stored in a secured place.

a)Before and after care given. Observe the aftercare advice from the specialist. This will prevent any adverse reactions from the service.

b)some providers will offer you a disposable underwear, others will not. Discuss your level of comfort with your specialist.

4) No Double Dipping(D.D).. This is my worst pet pev.
D.D is placing the spatula back into the wax pot after the wax has been applied on the desired area.
Double dipping is like using a spoon to stir a pot and putting the spoon in your mouth to taste and putting the spoon back in the pot.

My reservation about double dipping is simple, particularly when dealing with underarms and intimate areas. These areas produce sweat and bodily fluids which can easily be transferred into the pot.

Isn't the wax hot? Yes it is.... Strip/warm wax is 43-45 degrees C and Hot wax is 48-55 degrees C(depends on system) which is the perfect temperature for bacteria to vacation in..
In my opinion no wax pot gets hot enough to kill bacteria, only an autoclave which reaches 121 degrees C can do that.

If you are a female or male novice to intimate waxing and you are skeptical because you might be wondering what your specialist might think about your anatomy. Don't.

Everyone is their own definition of BEAUTIFUL.

There is no judgement, comparison or criticism.
The specialist focus is to provide the best service and make you comfortable.

Here are a few things any specialist would appreciate you consider before your service:

a)if you are going to receive intimate waxing, shower before and if that's not possible, use hygiene wipes.

b) no waxing on the days of the monthly cycle

c) be punctual for your service or inform ahead of time of any tardiness .

d) when calling to reserve your first appointment ask as many questions as you would like. No question is a stupid question.

My motto in life is try something once to satisfy your curiosity and if you like it kudos. Go ahead try it .If you are a seasoned waxer, I might have a few new designs for you.

Massage Therapy Encourages Relaxation

The body can produce an unhealthy buildup of hormones when we're stuck in traffic or meeting a work deadline. Pent-up levels of the "stress hormone" cortisol can lead to sleeplessness, headaches and even digestive problems.
Enter massage therapy. Massage has been shown to decrease cortisol in the body. This allows the body to enter a relaxing rest-and-recovery mode: an effect that lingers long after the massage is over. In fact, massage triggers a host of brain chemistry responses that can result in lasting feelings of relaxation, lowered stress and improved mood.
