I am excited about the ways we will be working together to shape the future for ALL youth. As the District Representative for Dennery South, I am happy and proud that one of our own young people is being held in such high esteem and I believe that every young girl or boy who may have doubted themselves can stand proud and say that they can do it too; do it like Yaniqueca!

On Monday, 3rd October, 2022, I attended the 21st Eastern Caribbean Ministerial Meeting on Fisheries and the Sustainable Use of Marine Resources, held in Antigua and Barbuda.

This meeting brought together ministers, policymakers and experts in the field of fisheries and the marine environment focusing on the shocks, challenges and opportunities associated with the region’s marine industry.

The meeting addressed issues such as, the Post-COVID Challenges to Sustainable Fisheries Development as it pertains to Sustainable use of Living Marine Resources and Livelihoods, Coastal Environmental Issues affecting Fisheries Development and Management, and Opportunities for the Development of the Blue Economy.

It is my belief that this meeting will help shape the future of fisheries in Saint Lucia and greatly benefit the fishermen, wholesalers and other stakeholders involved in the marine and fishing industry in the community of Dennery.

Our community mourns a youthful soul! Roger "Ketchup" Joseph Jr was a vibrant, jovial, and energetic soul. A young man who was always smiling and even when very serious the calmness of his soul still was seen.

Condolences to his parents, siblings, family and friends and to our community at large!

We will surely miss him.

Access to education and educational resources has been enhanced and now educational pathways are open for more people including adults, women and the differently abled, thus making our residents more competitive and marketable at all levels.

As residents of Dennery South and citizens of Saint Lucia, I ask that we embrace the transformative power and significance of education in our lives and I urge you to join me as we support our Educators, Students, Parents and other Educational Stakeholders who remain steadfast and committed despite the global challenges faced.

President Biden and I first met when I was Deputy Prime Minister and he was Vice President of the United States of America. That was almost 10 years ago.

He captured our reunion with a selfie when we met this week in Glasgow, having successfully contested elections to become the leader of our respective Governments.

Rest assured that I continue to make representation that puts the people of Saint Lucia first.

Update!

Reconstruction of the damaged bridge at Anse Canot, Dennery will commence early this coming week. A temporary bypass will be installed to immediately provide access to our farmers and other patrons while the bridge reconstruction takes place.

I sincerely regret the inconvenience this has caused to our farmers and other road users. Constituents and other road users are urged to exercise caution when traversing through this area.
