IHRC Supports School Children in Sri Lanka's Educational Scholarship Entrance Examination

As part of the voluntary support program of the Special Monitoring Mission of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC SMM), on September 20, 2023, the Officials of the Special Monitoring Mission in Sri Lanka organized a program to provide knowledge to school students for the Matriculation Bar Exam.

Mr. Satyavel Babudaran, the Sri Lankan National Volunteers Coordinator (NVC) of the International Human Rights Commission in Sri Lanka, alongside Dr. Chrishantha Dissanayake, Hemantha Witharana, Dhammika Sisira Kumara, Nalin Darshana Mallavarachchi, Amaradasa Dilankarachchi, Sadeva Amaradasa participated in this event.

Meanwhile, Mr. Harrison Somesiri and Mr. Udara Ratnayake urged the children to focus on education and avoid anti-social behavior.

The seminar was held at Giri/Labbala Maha Vidyalaya in Giriulla Education Zone in North West Province of Sri Lanka and all the children of six schools in Giriulla Education Zone were given the necessary knowledge with the contribution of Sri Lanka's expert resource persons.

The school students were given the required sets of educational question papers, and the types of food required on that day.

We regret, that the amount of work involved in adapting photos to a form that allows them to be placed on SMM IHRC volunteer documents, exceeds our capabilities. Therefore from June 25 application will be accepted only with a passport photo attached, on a uniform background. Not selfi from the car, trips or a photo on the couch. We will only accept photos, that would be acceptable when you applying for an official document such as a passport, ID card or driving license. Applications with other images will be rejected without consideration and rejection information to the sender.

IHRC: Strong condemnation on the George's Floyed killing in the USA

International Human Rights Commission condemned the killing of George's Floyed killing by the United States of America's police which create a strong roundup in the various American States.
In a communiqué between the IHRC Secretary General Prof. Rafal M. Wasik and Ambassador at Large / advisor to the UNOG Affairs Dr. Haissam Bou-Said, both sent a strong message to the Administration to respect all human rights especially those who are sentenced in prison. Detailed Information on abuse in US prisons are recorded and considered to be a serious violation of Human Rights. Ambassador Bou-Said was demanded to carry a complain with the UN Human Rights Council on this issue along with supported documents on the violations.
