Six Indefinite still lifes,2020,graphite on paper,18cm x 51cm.
After so many days of hard work finally this is the art work I finished up. May be it's a main study of a large scale painting I'm expecting to do. I wanted to make the liner composition a more interest one which I build inside the work. I have a desire to work on shapes familiar with semi circles. You may have seen those in my previous works before. So these are very important for the composition. But if a big painting will born through this, I'm not ready to make limits for you to think that it's nature will be this.

Indian miniature paintings which I studied in my university period were a big motivation for this study.For a little while, I stopped the eagerness for doing paintings in big canvases or in big papers.It's a different chill 🤪🤪.How to work in a tiny space,how to arrange my subject matter in that space,how should be the last composition.....Indeed,it's a big process though it seems as a little work.However a reason for the progress of this concept is an interesting conversation with Janaka Ruwan Ambalampitiya.thank you Janaka aiya...

Indeed I really like abstract. It became one of my favorite subjects while studying at the university. I think abstract art is the closest thing to meditation. Here are some of my attempts at meditation.

Once in sri lanka there lived uncultured set of people among the cultured people.they divided into two groups and nearly killed each,removed eyes,ears were hammered by tube of pens.My father first met “Billa”before meeting my mother.in the day of their wedding bombs were blasted instead of crackers.After a year I was born.My uncle died in 1998.That is due to the war in north.at that time I was a small led even cannot wash myself alone.but I can remember well how my mother hit the window when his coffin was brought home.by that time Wijeweera was killed.Recently Prabhakaran had died at the Nandikadal lagoon.By hearing that our people enjoyed eating milkrice.in order to forget what was happened,people covered the reality by doing various things.But I could not find who was responsible for.
Once again I remind my mother.she looked at everything.she couldn’t speak because she has become a live monument.we are the one who created such live monuments.
So I cut my mother’s hair because I feel something that you cannot feel.
