Hello again! Who told that hoteliers don’t have day offs?! They do! Once in a blue moon:-) This time TGH team went on a short trip to Kandy and found a new favorite place on the way. We keep a good memory of the place and share it with you. ♥Ambuluwawa biodiversity complex ♥ ☆rated as a 5-bubble tourist attraction by Tripadvisor. Getting there: ❀Nearest Town: Gampola ❀3 hrs drive from TGH in the suburbs of Gampola Town ❀25 km from Kandy ❀Gates open at 8.30 am Ambuluwawa is a rock mountain with impressive views of Gampola Town and other mountains, including the highest mountain in Sri Lanka - Pidurutalagala. The trip tips: #1 leave TGH at around 6:00-6:00 in the morning #2 the distance from the entrance to the mountain peak is about 2.5 -3 km. Leave your car in the parking area, hire a tuk-tuk or walk to the top. Riding a tuk-tuk to the top is a unique experience! #3 try to finish observation by 12:00-12:30 to be able to get your lunch on time (not many dining places on the way, but your driver will recommend you a good one). #4 plan this as an HD trip on your way to Kandy (it may be an alternative to the Pinnawala Orphanage visit) #5 comfortable shoes is a must-have ♡Our wish: we wish better maintenance of the place We found the tower of the Ambuluwawa temple that is nested on the mountain top to be the craziest tower ever.
