One of the most common reasons we come across when parents decide to get a one-to-one math tutor for their child is a "sudden" drop in scores at school exams.
Parents are baffled as to why their child underperformed despite working very hard and practicing questions ahead of the exam.
Most of these children have done excellently in primary school (Years 3 through 6).
The reason is that in school and tuition centers, teachers/instructors train students to "Mimic" not to "think." Mimicking works for a while but is eventually exposed in secondary school.
