These reports were shared recently by one of our students. The reason that we thought of sharing these on our page is to let all of you know that yoga can transform your health towards a positive route if practiced methodically and systematically. Her blood sugar levels were rising initially and she started her practice with us with patience and through proper guidance and of course her determination and proper understanding of the training she was able to reach a normal state in her blood sugar levels. What we always tell our students is that to practice for your HEALTH. don’t practice to know 101 postures. Don’t move away from the real meaning of practicing yoga. Practice for your health. 🙏
Trikonasana. One of the best postures for your spine. When I teach, what I want my students to understand is the health benefits of these postures and I try my level best to make them realize the importance of these postures as todays day and age yoga has merely become a performance and people have moved away from the real meaning behind it by trying only to grasp as many postures as they can without deepening their knowledge towards the fundamentals. - Miulangi Siriwardana.

When you keep the balance by strength, it’s physical action; when you keep it by the intelligence of the body, it is relaxation in action”.

A destiny can affect a man in a flash and alter his shape and character. Guru Nanda Siriwardana in fact is one of the lucky students who’s destiny was altered positively after being able to practice under great gurus in his era. The gratitude he has towards his gurus remains unchanged up until today. The character of a genuine and a grateful student is seen in the way he/ she truly respects their gurus throughout their lives even though they are no more. If you are a yoga teacher, the beauty and the blessings of it is how you continue to be a humble and respectful soul. This is Guru Nanda Siriwardana after each session. He never forgets to worship and pays his respects before leaving the center. His gods are his teachers 🙏
No amount of wealth can equal health. Between the two, the choice is always health, since wealth cannot be enjoyed without health, whereas wealth can be commanded if one has health. Without health there is no strength. Strength is preserved only when health is maintained. Health of the body means both physical and mental well being. Life without happiness is mere existence. Practice of yoga bring a perfect balance in body and mind. It makes the body corporate with the kind so that steadiness, composure and firmness are developed.
Yoga is based on principles of morality, physical discipline and mental alertness and spiritual awakening. In the correct practice of Asana the mind is kept alert and the brain as a witnessing instrument so the sadhaka realizes that yoga is not simply a physical discipline but a great mental discipline as well. Accurate performance of an asana heightens ones total awareness, reaching out to each and every pour of the skin and and reaching to the inner most body. The correct performance of postures with proper understanding of alignment and the brain of each posture one can reap many benefits out of it. Thank you for your genuine feedbacks! 🙏

5 finger hand stand practice
Pincha practice using the props for students to understand and create awareness in areas that needs attention.
Lower body strengthening session at the class. Keeping the lower body strong helps with many postures specially when strengthening the hip area. Hip stability and strength is important specially when it comes to inversions.
“The study of yoga is not like work for a diploma or a university degree by someone desiring favorable results in a stipulated time. The obstacles trials and tribulations in the path of yoga can be removed to a large extent with the help of a guru. A proper guru. If the guru is not knowledgeable enough then the sisya ( student) will learn the wrong ways and ill effects of such teachings will be shown on the student in the long run. Merely a certificate cannot confirm if he/ she is a good teacher. The practice/effects of the teachings and experience will do so”- Guru Iyengar.
PRĀNĀYĀMA PRACTICE. Are you a person who practices pranayama? Do you think you might be doing it right or wrong? Read carefully the above three slides to give you a very brief understanding on Pranayama in Guruji Iyengar’s own words.Even lots of people approach our institute demand us that we teach pranayama only or inquire if we have pranayama classes and we make sure that we tell them that there has to be a proper training in asana for a long period ( some postures which are specifically for pranayama) and after which we allow them to enter the pranayama phase. Always remember why in eight limbs yoga , the pranayama comes after Asana. Yoga has to be done in a proper sequence. And we have made sure that our students reap the benefits properly and not taught anything in a hurry. 🙏
Has anyone explained to you different styles of yoga,differentiated yoga and compared how one style can be better or meaningful than the other? Guruji explained well towards this. He says “ IT IS WRONG TO DIFFERENTIATE AND MARKET YOGA AS THIS YOGA AND THAT YOGA. INFACT THERE IS NO DISTINCTION BETWEEN ONE YOGA AND ANOTHER. EVEN DONT CALL IT IYENGAR YOGA. THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME ROOT AND SAME PURPOSE. YOGA LIKE GOD IS ONE. BUT PEOPLE CALL HIM BY DIFFERENT NAMES.MANY MAKE A DIVISION AND SAY THAT HATHA YOGA IS PHYSICAL/ ASHTANGA YOGA IS SOMETHING ELSE AND RAJA YOGA IS MENTAL. CAN ONE SAY WHERE THE BODY ENDS AND THE MIND BEGINS? OR WHERE THE MIND ENDS AND THE SELF BEGINS? ONLY ARM CHAIR YOGIS OR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE PROPER KNOWLEDGE OF YOGA WITH LIMITED UNDERSTANDING INVENT AND DISCUSS SUCH UNWARRANTED DISTINCTIONS. “ - and we wholeheartedly agree with Guruji. 🙏

Due to the oreassure of the elbows against the abdominal aorta blood circulates properly in the abdominal organs. This improves digestive power/ cures ailments of the stomach and spleen and prevent the accumulation of toxins due to faulty eating habits.
