1954 වසරේ ළමා අයිතිවාසිකම් පිලිබඳ ප්‍රකාශය වෙනුවෙන් රටවල් 13 ක් අත්සන් කළ අතර මහා මණ්ඩලය විසින් විශ්ව ළමා දිනයක් ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරන ලෙස සාමාජික රටවලින් ඉල්ලා සිටියා. මේ සඳහා නොවැම්බර් 20 වැනි දින තෝරා ගත් අතර තම රටවල් වෙනුවෙන් ගැලපෙන දිනයක් තෝරා ගැනීමට අවසර ලබා දෙන ලදී. හැම රටකම ඔක්තෝබර් පළමුවැනි දිනයම තෝරා ගන්නේ නැහැ.
රොමේනියාවේ ජාත්‍යන්තර ළමා දිනය සමරන්නේ ජූනි මාසයේ පළමු වැනි දිනටයි. එදිනට මෙම රටේ දරුවන්ට නොමිලයේ සත්වෝද්‍යානයට ඇතුලු වී විනෝද වෙන්න පුලුවන්. ආර්ජන්ටිනාව අගෝස්තු මාසයේ දෙවැනි ඉරිදා දිනය ළමා දිනය සමරන්න යොදා ගෙන තිබෙනවා. බ්‍රසිලය ඔක්තෝබර් 12 වැනි දිනත් කැමරන් රාජ්‍යය සහ කොංගෝ රාජ්‍යය දෙසැම්බර් 25 වැනි දින ළමා දිනය සමරනු ලබනවා. ඉන්දියාව මේ සඳහා තෝරා ගන්නේ ජවහල්ලාල් නේරු තුමාගේ ජන්ම දිනය යෙදී තිබෙන නොවැම්බර් 20 වැනි දිනයි. පකිස්ථානයත් මේ දිනයම තෝරා ගත් අතර ඊශ්‍රායලය ඔක්තෝබර් 19 වැනි දින ළමයින් වෙනුවෙන් තෝරා ගත්තා.
