Humanity depends on land. Yet, all over the world, a toxic cocktail of pollution, climate chaos, and biodiversity decimation are turning healthy lands into deserts, and thriving ecosystems into dead zones. They are annihilating forests and grasslands, and sapping the strength of land to support ecosystems, agriculture, and communities.
As we commemorate World Environment Day, letโs join the movement to restore our lands, build drought resilience and combat desertification.
Few of our students are currently in Gbarpolu county, attending the World Environment Day.

As we commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 a global observance to raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding menstruation, the Public Health Students Association in partnership with Hope Rising Heart Initiative launches a one day Celebration in Todee, rural Mintserrado county. As part of our activities for the MHD, we have launched:
1. A robust online campaign against .
2. Over one hundred (100) Sanitaty pads distribution to high schools girls and community women in Todee.
Menstruation is a natural part of a woman's life, yet it is often met with shame and embarrassment. Poor menstrual hygiene can lead to infections, reproductive health problems, and even social isolation. By providing access to sanitary products, we are not only addressing a basic health need but also sending a powerful message to our girls: that menstruation is not something to be ashamed of, but a source of empowerment. Breaking the stigma associated with menstruation is crucial for creating an equitable and inclusive society.
We call on all Public health students to join the online campaign as we fight against Menstrual Stigma.

Liberia faces significant challenges in waste management due to limited infrastructure, inadequate funding, and limited awareness of best practices. Improper waste disposal poses severe threats to public health and the environment.
As Health education is crucial to improving waste management practices and mitigating the risks, one of the lecturers of BSPH 108 - Municipal Waste Management (Mrs. Johnette Miapeh Miah-Kannah) lead students on a one day cleaning up exercise on the fendall campus. The students engaged the campus with robust Health Education.
On today, the Public health department in partnership with the Center for Renewable Energy and Climate Action (CRECA), had a day long workshop on the steps in writing a โResearch Proposal.โ
The workshop brought together Senior and Junior Students of the Public Health Department. It was an interesting time, as the students were impressed with the presentations from the facilitators.
NOTICE!!!! NOTICE!!!
To: All Students in the Public Health Department
All students MUST go by the course guide given to them. Any student who does not go by the department's course guide to take courses on a semester basis as outlined in it will be penalized for doing such. For a fact that your unofficial transcript will already be in complete disarray, you won't be allowed to take up any junior level courses.
This issue of just jumping among courses MUST end. You are polluting your transcript by doing so.
