June 16, 2023 Day of the African Child celebration held by the AWCYs of Liberia in Grand Capemount county under the theme โMy rights, my voiceโ.
The day was celebrated in order to raise awareness on the rights of African children; and in honor of those who lost their lives in South Africa ๐ฟ๐ฆ 1976; in the fight for the rights African Children enjoy today.
Also, the program raised an awareness on the video and the 12 rights of the AWCY;
Using the video for learning and discussion, 20 plus AWCYs, parents, and local community leaders were educated on the 12 rights, the work of the associations, as well as the role of the community to ensure that working and vulnerable children are protected.
A salute to our heroes and leaders of the AMWCY who ensured that the rights of children are being taught and respected. ๐
From May 11 to the 13th 2023, the WCYs of Liberia made a visitation to various associations in Bomi, Capemount, and Montserrado counties purposely to identify vulnerable working children, the problem they faced, and to find a solution to those problems.
The exercise was a part of the phase three mapping project and implementation activities, facilitated by of Nigeria; which ended with a direct impact support to the various associations regarding their problems.
