A common question: why do you go for LEFEHLO...
First of all we will agree that that everyone need guidance to become great in what s/he does.
Having and acknowledging the gift is a single step of a milestone. When one has listened to the calling and wish to honor the gift, he will either be directed to a specific Gobela to initiate or take a decision to search for one.
Often than not a person would be guided to the kind of initiation put forth before him. Then the process of ho thoasa starts, followed by Lefehlo where one will connect to the supernatural at a greater level.
The world can be such a noisy place that a person would highly miss important guidance and directives due to busyness of daily chores and earning a living hence the necessity to go in a sacred isolation place and process. The old self dies during this time, giving birth to a new person altogether. One's ego gets buried and a person develops the third eye which will help the spirit to bear positive fruits.
Through this muted process of self identity purification happens. Just like gold going through fire in the furnace or diamond from underground being polished to regain its shine and glitter for it to be more valuable.
Through this crucial process that is facilitated much by quiteness the spirit awakens and reside within a person, yielding more results that open the third eye. At this sanctity juncture the covenant between supernatural and a person is formed and the life purpose identified, being it to be a healer, conventionalist, diviner, philanthropist to mention but a few. It is worth noting that this process is just the beginning and not the end of the journey...
Your Calling will never stop calling, once the spiritual temple gets a rupture, attention will forever be needed, mamela ha u bitsoa
SIGNIFICANCE OF DRUMS
One of the very crucial aspect of being a Sangoma/Lethuela is the drumming session. In the beating of the drums we find the inner rhythm that moves from our core. Such rhythm sends vibrations and frequencies, transcending the confines of rigidity. We pray, we connect, we become. The awakened spirit reigns abundantly and gives us renewal of the body, mind and soul

HAVING A SPIRITUAL CALLING
It's not a matter of believing or not. When one is called or have a spiritual gift, s/he has to listen and obey it. There is a common saying that Ancestors punish people (BALIMO BA SOTLA). Just like any other elderly, ancestors do not like being ignored when they communicate. They may have said a lot to you lightly but because of our westernized/colonized upbringing, which I don't even put as a blame to anyone, one turned to ignore the directives. As the going gets tougher they will communicate in a rougher manner to try grab your attention. They will remove all that you care much for so that the only path to take is to listen to their non verbal instructions.
Remember choosing you is more like showering you with their blessings, to either continue with the lineage spiritual path or fulfill a certain need for the survival of your family, or at times even the society at large. Choosing you is more of a covenant they have made with the most high God that you can be able to carry on with the family promises. Having said that its evident that if one chooses to ignore them they will not be pleased and they will communicate intensively. Hence sickness, accidents, loss of personal property, financial struggle and burdens etc.

When you greet someone with...
"Leseli,Thokoza,Camagu..." you tap at the level of the soul, you acknowledge the ancestors that walk with the person and the God within them. This is the respect offered to the spiritual realm in either gratitude, acknowledgement and or consensus forms, etc. This form of greeting creates frequencies and vibrations to the one paying them in as much as it does to the receiver

Often people talk about having lost connection to nature. If we critically engage on the subject matter we will first identify that human beings are part of animals, and animals and plants depend on another for survival. So if we turned against our indigenous ways it means we have lost linkage in the chain, not mentioning preservation of knowledge within societies for future generations.
Therefore no connection with nature means we have also lost ourselves, our identity, our ways of doing things.
The African cosmological system is being destroyed by our choice to ignore the laws governing interdependence in nature. It means we turn a blind eye to the spirit world which is supernatural and bears all power to guide us.
Be vigilant, pay attention and connect bits and pieces around your life. The spirit communicates differently, even more non verbally to utter crucial aspects of a person's journey
