Press Statement: Condemnation of the Tragic Killing of Radio Presenter Ralikonelo Joki at Ts'enolo FM

The Alliance of Democrats Youth League (ADYL) strongly condemns the shocking and tragic killing of radio presenter Ralikonelo Joki, who was brutally attacked by gunmen at the gates of Ts'enolo FM, where he worked. This act of violence against a dedicated member of the media is not only a loss to his family, friends, and colleagues but also a grave attack on press freedom and the values of our society.

Ralikonelo Joki was a talented and passionate radio presenter who used his platform to inform, entertain, and engage with the community. His commitment to journalism and his ability to connect with his audience made him a beloved figure in our society. His untimely death is an irreparable loss to the media fraternity and the nation as a whole.

We call on the law enforcement agencies to expedite their investigation into this tragic incident and bring the perpetrators to justice. It is essential that swift action is taken to ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime face the full force of the law. The safety and security of media professionals must be guaranteed, and attacks on journalists cannot go unpunished.

The Alliance of Democrats Youth League also urges the government and relevant authorities to strengthen security measures to protect media organizations, journalists, and all individuals exercising their right to freedom of expression. It is imperative that steps are taken to create an environment where media professionals can carry out their duties without fear of violence or intimidation.
