The color of the sky, which represented the male energy. The deep depths of the blue waters represented the feminine energy and the deeper, hidden secrets of life. It was believed that the hair of the Egyptian gods themselves was made of bright blue LAPIS LAZULI. This color was associated with life and rebirth, as the world was said rise from the primordial floods on the day the sun first rose.

What hairstyles did goddesses wear in Greek mythology?

All of us women try to take care of our hair and try many hairstyles during our life. So, how come in Greek mythology, hairstyles were looked after by goddesses.
Zeus's wife, Hera, had soft wavy shiny hair and covered it with a transparent veil. She also wore a diadem. Athena, the goddess, wore a helmet as a symbol of the city's protector. From under the helmet could be seen a pile of thin curls that fell easily. Artemis is usually depicted with straight hair, while Aphrodite wore a similar hairstyle with the addition of a delicate tiara. Demeter had soft wavy hair and wore a diadem like Hera.

So, we can see that hairstyles differed according to the personality of each goddess. Well, you, our lovely goddesses, share in the comments which hairstyle style you like the most. Or maybe you have a funny story about a change in hairstyle. Be sure to share in the comments.

What flowers are used in Greek mythology? Peonies

Popular peonies are named after Paean, the physician who tended to the wounds of the gods under the guidance of his teacher, Asclepius, the god of medicine and healing.

One day, Paean healed Pluto, the god of the underworld, with a milky liquid taken from the root of a magical flower he had found on Mount Olympus. His success humiliated Asclepius, who plotted to kill his pupil for outsmarting him. Zeus, the king of the gods, took mercy on Paean by turning him into the plant that had saved Pluto’s life. It was the blousy peony, hence its long-held meaning of compassion.

Peony roots, seeds and petals were widely used in ancient times to treat a variety of aches and pains. Research has since proven that they can indeed have anti-inflammatory effects, so perhaps there’s truth to some myths after all...

What cosmetics were used in ancient Greece?

In ancient Greece, women really liked to use makeup and dress up every day. In Greek culture, keeping your skin soft and glowing was a high priority. Honey and olive oil were used to moisturize the skin. These products are also used in many lotions and health care products till this day.

Women used make-up every day. Many women used an eyeliner made of olive oil and charcoal to draw lines. This eyeliner was also used to create dense eyebrows, which was very popular at the time. Red iron oxide mixed with beeswax was used to create a glossy and long-lasting lip balm.

Well, our lovely goddesses, what products do you use and what would you most recommend to your friends?

“Our main message is to spread women’s self-confidence“

Each of us is special and amazing, but in the daily routine we forget about ourselves. In mythology, goddesses are also very earthly women, they, like us, work hard, fight, rejoice and grieve. But at the end of the day, they never forget who they are – they are goddesses. They are not afraid to show their emotions to those around them, on the contrary, they are fearless in all life situations.

In the comments, tag your friends, mother or women who are goddesses to You.

How did it all start? Why did You come up with the idea to create a linen fashion house?

Questions that we receive all the time and today we will briefly tell You how the "LinenMadame" brand was born.

My name is Irena, I live in Lithuania, in the northern part of Europe. Lithuania is a small country located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Our land is famous for its beautiful dense forests and amazing scenery of rivers and lakes. From my childhood, natural linen has accompanied my daily routine. Some of my childhood clothes and home textiles were made from linen, which my mom and grandmother used to make. When I was growing up, I started sewing clothes one step at a time. Over time, this has become my new hobby. As a student, I was already sewing the most sophisticated clothing models made from natural linen.

Many years have passed. My daughter and I were cleaning up the closets and found the same little madame clothes from my childhood and the clothes I made. One of the most amazing features of linen is the strength of its fabric, which is why these clothes have stayed the same from childhood. So, after this discovery, I started sewing again. The family saw my excitement and joy, so we all decided to open a “LinenMadam” handmade linen clothing business. Modern linen clothing patterns and linen traditions that are passed down from generation to generation is what makes up our small family business. I am glad my hobby has become something more and I can share it with You.

Sincerely yours,
The LinenMadame team

Let's look at the history of Greek mythology - how were goddesses and gods worshipped?

The ancient Greeks worshiped their gods every day. So it is not surprising that they needed a holy place where they could pray. Temples - in every city it was possible to find more than one. Sometimes several temples were built for the patron saint of the city. They were built in holy places, it is believed that there were manifestations of goddesses or gods to people. When praying, people brought offerings, usually food, to the temples. The rites were performed by the priests.

Festivals - The Greeks held festivals to honor their gods. Each celebration was usually full of singing and dancing, and the evening culminated in a sacrifice, where an animal of the same s*x as a certain god was used as a sacrifice. Sacrificed animals were prepared and a huge food feast was held.

Sporting events, such as the ancient Greek Olympic Games, were meant to pay respect to their gods and put on a real show for them.

Greeks did not pray at home every day, they went to temples for that. They did not believe that their gods resided in temples or holy places. However, they believed that the gods visited these places and had magical powers that could hear their prayers.

Dear followers, we are wondering, which temples have you visited through life? Who left the biggest impression on you? Write in the comments.

Let's look at the history of Greek mythology - how did the goddesses dress?

The basic garments were simply fabric squares, cylinders, or rectangles of cloth that were wrapped or draped over the person and then fastened with pins, buttons, or brooches to hold the cloth in place. One piece of material could be used to produce ever different silhouettes, making it practical and convenient. These tunics were also universal because they could be worn by both men and women. Adding additional accessories and the number of additional draperies changed the image.

The main materials for creating these clothes were linen and wool. Mainly in fine art called "Reginia" goddesses dressed in linen tunics. The different density of the linen material made it possible to obtain various tones and thus enliven the woman's silhouette.

The colors of the fabrics were also important. The most popular: white, red, pink and purple. We can also see fabrics in which gold and silver bands are woven - this was a symbol of grandeur and exclusivity.

We will review the peculiarities of the clothes of mythological creatures of other nations in the future. And now we invite you to write in the comments, which goddess of Greek mythology impresses you the most in the world of fashion?

A woman's smile can change the world...

How much depends on our smile! Smiling gives lightness of soul and good mood. It doesn't matter how hard the day was, but a smile on your face can light up the whole environment around you.

Our dear goddesses, share in the comments what everyday moments make you smile, and maybe you have your own rituals that help you relax and smile.

Thank you for visiting our official IG page!

We are a fashion house located in Lithuania. We produce natural linen clothes. Every silhouette we create is unique and suitable for every goddess of today.

Yes, you heard it right, a goddess - the main message of our brand is to spread confidence in women, in their bodies, in their personalities. Each one of ours is unique and special, just like the clothes we create, which is why each garment is named after mythological goddesses.

Goddesses are worshiped and adored in the mythologies of various nations. They are depicted as strong self-confident and powerful beings. In today's perspective, we see many women who are ashamed of themselves and their bodies. But all this must come to an end and we must release the goddess within us that has been trapped for so long.

Be free, be strong and love yourself!

Sincerely yours,
The LinenMadame team
