It is with great pain that we inform you, that a few days ago Arek Malec, our dearest friend, one of the founders of the Hoquetus Ensemble, a participant of the memorable concert on August 3, 2011 at the Ancien Cinema in Vianden, inaugurating the activities of our quartet, passed away.
We have made many musical projects together and have a common passion for singing. We will miss this very much!
Arek, thank you for these moments together and for the music you shared with us!
Want to celebrate Fête de la musique with us? Come tomorrow (Sunday, June 18) to Brasserie Osada (Pfaffenthal, rue Medinger; few steps from Pfaffenthal Lift), where we and Confrerie du chant traditionnel are going to sing the most popular Luxemburgish songs, and a wide repertoire of the world and popular music of all Europe. Our music goes accompanied with the famous Polish sausages (best of the best in the World :) ), served directly from Brasserie’s barbecue!
The event starts at 12:00, so this is also great opportunity to have lunch with us!
Tonight show
Dear Friends, we are happy to participate in the charity event organised by Altrimenti culture centre. We would like to invite you warmly to come to this concert and not just listen and enjoy the music, but to support young Bartek, who needs to undergo very expensive therapy, to save his life.
We are going to sing few beautiful songs by Georges Gershwin and to put some very positive, hearty accents with a handful of songs about love, friendship and happiness.
As always we will sing with the brilliant and beautiful accompaniment of Robert Kania (Trebor Ainak)!

Miłego odbioru i do siego Roku!

For this New Year we would like to send you musical wishes, specifically with the help of a Shchédrïk.
What is a Shchédrïk? According to known sources, it is a Ukrainian Christmas carol. It has so little in common with Christmas, however it was made famous on Christmas Day exactly 30 years ago by the film ‘Home Alone’ (in the soundtrack of this movie listed as „Carol of the Bells”). As a matter of fact, in some countries the tradition of watching this movie on Christmas Day is so ingrained, that many believe that it is not truly Christmas without it 😉
Going back to Shchédrïk, it is difficult to understand what this beautiful song has to do with Christmas and even the New Year (it’s main character is a swallow, have any of you even seen a swallow during the winter season, especially in Ukraine??). What does it matter, since Shchédrïk has very simple but very beautiful wishes of prosperity, and is sung during Christmas as per tradition. Whether it be for the catholic (25th of December) or the protestant (6th of January) holiday, either way it fits perfectly for wishing everyone well for the New Year.
This is why we wish you a healthy (very important!), happy and prosperous 2021 with this Shchédrïk. Happy listening, we hope you have a good year!

We wouldn’t be ourselves if we didn’t sing any Polish Christmas carols for you at this extraordinary time! As such, we didn’t choose a Christmas carol as popular as ‘Lulajże Jezuniu’ or ‘Gdy Śliczna Panna’, but one equally as beautiful. As a matter of fact, you can listen to it for yourselves now. Enjoy! :)

We’ve started singing Christmas carols but advent isn’t even over yet... on this last advent day we would like to show you a beautiful, German advent song from the end of the 19th century, although it’s melody is from the 16th century which inclined me to arrange it in a late renaissance style.
