Wax worm
we have dedicated this page to the beautiful wax worm - the ultimate food for everyone
delicious!
Wax moth larvae are fat, medium white caterpillars ranging in size from 0.5 mm to 2 cm with small black-tipped legs and tiny black or brownish-dark heads. The life cycle of both wax moth species consists of four stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult. moths. The development of each life cycle stage of the wax moth is highly dependent on environmental factors, especially temperature. The optimal temperature range for rapid reproduction and development of the wax moth is in the range of 28-30°C. For this, it is not necessary to install special containers with heating, you can use warm places, such as the top of the refrigerator, a radiator, an aquarium lamp, and the like. Ventilation levels also play a role as the larvae respire very intensively. On average, a full development cycle takes 1 month and several containers may be needed to constantly obtain caterpillars of the required size.
