Riga Hockey Cup 2024 for U13 and U15 tournaments is over. We would like to say thank you to all our sponsors, arenas and hotel staff as well as everybody who was involved with the tournament organization! The awards were presented by His Excellency Brian Szwarc, Ambassador of Canada to Latvia and Lieutenant-Colonel Manuel Pelletier-Bédard, Acting Commander of Task Force Latvia. 🇬🇧 The 2023 Riga Hockey Cup ended with a very interesting and intense U18 match between hockey club “Tukums” and hockey school “Kurbads”, the winner being determined in a long series of 12 penalty shots. 😳 Team “Tukums” became the champions and the player Ernests Uldis Kariņš loudly cheered “TUKUMS CAN!” after the victory. 👏🏼💥 Which team will become the champions of 2024? 🇱🇻 "Riga Hockey Cup" sadarbībā ar Kanādas vēstniecību Latvijā un @overspeedhockey spēj paveikt lielas lietas! Šogad nometnē uzņēmām 84 bērnus, tostarp 29 meitenes, bet piektdien tikāmies ar 31 hokeja treneri no dažādām valstīm, lai kopīgi mācītos no labākajiem - Toby O'Brien, Artūrs Irbe, Jill Plandowski, Matt Bertani un Jussi Kari-Koskinen. Ar savu klātbūtni pagodināja un iedvesmojošiem vārdiem dalījās Latvijas Hokeja federācijas sporta direktors Edgars Buncis un Kanādas vēstnieks Latvijā Brian Szwarc. Pirms treneru semināra vēstnieks uz tikšanos neformālā gaisotnē bija aicinājis Izglītības un zinātnes ministrijas Sporta departamenta direktoru Vladimiru Šteinbergu, ASV vēstniecības Kultūras Atašeju Mr Cale Wagner, Riga Hockey Cup ģenerālmenedžeri Jāni Jansonu, Latvijas Hokeja federācijas ģenerālsekretāru Robertu Pļāvēju, IIHF padomes locekli Viesturu Koziolu, “OverSpeed Hockey” direktoru Toby O`Brien un trenerus Jill Plandowski, Artūrs Irbe, lai apspriestu iespējas veicināt Latvijas - Kanādas - ASV sadarbību jaunatnes hokeja attīstības un izglītības jomā Latvijā, kas ietvertu jauno hokejistu, kā arī treneru un tiesnešu iemaņu pilnveidi. This year we welcomed 84 children to the camp, including 29 girls, but on Friday we met with 31 hockey coaches from different countries to learn together from the best - Toby O'Brien, Artūrs Irbe, Jill Plandowski, Matt Bertani and Jussi Kari-Koskinen.
