Three months ago, I found and joined an amazing charity organization .bernu.fejas that helps premature babies. Since then, I have discovered a new depth to my crochet projects. These octopuses are not just cute and handmade; they are crucially important to premature babies. They help calm the babies, normalize oxygen levels, and even improve their heart rate. 🩷

Every piece of art is important; we just need to find its true depth. 🩷

I have been crocheting for over 12 years now and have invested a lot of love into my projects. What started as a leisurely hobby has grown into a small business, bringing with it both challenges and rewards. I've faced trials and errors, experienced waves of huge inspiration, and battled through moments of total dismotivation where I couldn’t even pick up the hook. All these experiences have run parallel to my inner journey. The more I get to know myself, the clearer I see my crochet path, direction, and purpose. 🌟 Saying Goodbye to June 🌟

As a meaningful crochet amigurumi designer, today, on July 1st, I want to honor June and reflect on all the wonderful creations I made.

June was a month filled with creativity and heartfelt projects. I crocheted a blooming anatomical heart, reminding us that everything starts within our hearts. I crafted an adorable tulip bouquet to appreciate a special lady who dedicates her life to helping others. I made comforting octopuses for premature babies, bringing a little warmth to their tiny hands. I celebrated academic achievements with a crochet plush graduation owl, a cherished gift for a university graduate.

Inspired by my son’s love for soccer (or football, as we call it in Europe) and our shared excitement for and , I created a crochet soccer ball. And let’s not forget the super squishy and cute plush squishmallow frog, with a pattern set to release in the coming days.

Each of these projects holds a special place in my heart and represents an important part of my inner journey. Every pattern I share comes with guidelines to inspire and support you, making each creation meaningful.

There's something incredibly magical about knitting and crocheting in public. It’s not just about creating beautiful pieces; it’s about community, connection, and spreading the joy of handmade art. 🧵✨

Unbelievable, but June is already here. ☀

"Time is running so fast..." we say. And I partly agree with this statement. Time is such an illusory thing (if I even can call it that). It has no precise shape or form, it can stretch or shrink depending on the situation or condition somebody is going through. Somebody who is waiting or grieving will never agree that time flies, but ask the same question to yourself in a happy moments - they always seem to pass by so quickly.

Reviewing some past memories can make you feel that it was yesterday, yet if you stretch this gap and analyse it a little bit more, you will see how fulfilled it was as well. Time gets its value by what we fill it with and where we decide to keep our attention. Think positive thoughts, be nice to yourself and others, make somebody smile today and time will show you its best side. 🩷

Day 31 - Bye, bye AmiguruMay

I just can not believe that May is almost gone and it is the last prompt of AmiguruMay2024. It has been such a great ride. So many creative designers and talented crochet artists, so many tips and trick, so many new online friends! I am grateful to be one of this amazing community 🩷

Thank you, for this huge and fun amigurumi festival! It will stay in our memories for a very long time.

Day 30 - Your next amigurumi

Last week was very busy for me, I had to finish one big project and let me tell you proudly - I totally nailed it. ☺️ I had to make 6 hand puppets from scratch. I have crocheted giraffe before, but not much of other African animals. So I just had to relax my thinking mind and listen only the creative one.

After just 3 days I had this beautiful set ready. And now my next plan is to make African animals amigurumi set, I will try my best to design them no or low sew. 🤩

Day 29 - Seasonal

I love spring. It is the time when nature wakes up, when everything starts blooming, when sun gives us its warmth again. You can finally see so many different colors after the white (in best scenario, cause most of the time it is just grey) winter. You can hear birds chirping, see the trees getting back its greenery and everything and everyone seems to finally woken up and busy managing their own business. It is just so amazing to slow down and just be aware of all these changes. And see how everything has its own life circles and missions. 🩷

Day 28 - Stuffing

My favorite amigurumi stuffing is fiberfill. It is so light and so fluffy, I feel that it has a magical power to take any shape and fit nicely in every corner of the toy. 🤩😅

Day 25 - 3 things about patterns

🩷 I am old-school pattern writer - I always handwrite in my notebook first, and only after I am satisfied with the result, I type it.

🩷 I crochet along my typed pattern one more time, check for mistakes and take step by step photos.

🩷 Every pattern of mine has an introduction, where I am telling a short story of this project. You can also find there some useful tips for the mental health, because crochet is a great therapy.

Day 24 - Peace

For me peace = love. Love to everything what surrounds us, love to all the Universe. And I believe that love can save the world.

Day 22 - Books and patterns

Today is great day to share my new piggy pattern with you. While working on this project I had 2 main things to achieve - pattern had to be quick and cute.

So this little piggy can be made in less than 30 min and talking about cuteness, you tell me - are they cute? 🥰

Day 21 - Notions/Accessories

These are 2 accessories I can not imagine my amigurumi making process without.

Tweezers are a game changer for stuffing. Every corner is easy to reach with them.

Wrench has been my new friend since I started to crochet with chenille yarn. It is great help in securing safety eyes. Wrench literally saves my fingers 🤣.

Day 20 - Amazing shape

The shape of the heart reflects its purpose: to love, to give, and to connect.

The brain's intricate folds and curves reflect the complexity and depth of our thoughts and emotions.

I loved to work with these 2 projects - I was following real anatomical pictures, trying to replicate and simplify them at the same time.

Day 19 - Organized

I love to display the yarn on my working table, as I see all the colours spectrum in front of my eyes and decide on combinations. I love that everything is next to me, that is why my table most of the time looks like a total disaster 😅

Day 18 - 3 things about crafting

I will share with you my 3 favourite crafty things which help me in creating my amigurumi projects. 3 things - 3 photos of the examples.

1. I like to use craft pipe cleaners to make different shapes. In funny strawberry project I used them to make and shape the glasses.

2. I like to use felt pieces to make the face of amigurumi. It opens so many possibilities for face expressions, for example - open shouting mouth like in the brain amigurumi. I like his glasses as well.

3. For the stem of crochet flowers I like to use bamboo skewers. I wrap the yarn around them and secure with the glue.

Day 17 - Before and after

This prompt is so fun! I scrolled down the feed under the hashtag, and I have got the feeling that I had the chance to peak in amigurumi artist`s workshop and have a slight glimpse of their work of magic! 🥰

I have decided to showcase this lavender bouquet. Vase is the teapot, because this project was designed for one amazing person who loves tea ceremonies. 🩷

Day 16 - an old amigurumi

This was such a fun prompt. Majority of my old amigurumis are sold or gifted, but this guy is so close to my heart, that I have decided to keep him forever (even my kids are not allowed to play with him, lol😅).

This Teddy Bear was made at a century when fluffy yarn was not even a thing yet 😅. To be more specific - I crocheted him 10 year ago. He was one of my first amigurumis and one of my biggest love till now.

Day 15 - Tips and Tricks

I know that today we will have great tips and tricks in amigurumi creation, and I have already seen many of them. But my tips today are not regarding the practical part, but more of a mental.

I know that every project of ours is very special to us, it has a specific story and background. It was born in our imagination and made by our hands using the love in our hearts.

But not every project is going viral and sometimes it can make us feel down. It can open a dark door of pessimism and heavy thoughts. But do not let it happen! Take a break, rest, make yourself your favourite coffee or tea cup, do some pampering procedures. Appreciate yourself. Feeling down is OK, it is one of our feelings spectrum. Often dark thoughts can lead us to realisation that we failed, but it is NOT like that. Focus on positive thoughts, go for a walk and gift some of your plushies to other people. Random act of kindness is a great way to boost your mood.

The path of amigurumi creation is just like a path of life - we just need to move forward and make just ONE step at a time!

Day 14 - Eyes

Despite my love to safety eyes, especially those shiny ones, my preference goes to embroidered ones. I just love the vibe this face expression gives and safety reasons are so important as well. 🥰
