It's funny, because we see countless courses out there to help you pick your niche, target the right people, make sales...but what happens after the sale has been made? As a graduate fresh out of university with my HR Degree in hand, I had the lucky break to come into Sam Bakker's online marketing business to streamline his support desk and make personnel changes within it. What was really bothering him though was his dwindling 36% satisfaction rating on Zendesk that he was desperate to resussitate. This means that out of everyone surveyed, 6 out of 10 of his customers were so upset with the answers they were getting from the agency he hired to be his support team, that they were actually reporting how bad the support was, and heading for the door, and taking their money with them!

Since I'm new here, here's some fun facts about me:
- I dropped out of college at age 16
- When I was 17, I published my first bestselling book called 'You Shut Up!' about parenting teenagers, written from a teenager's perspective. As a typical teenager, I thought I could do everything myself so all the sales, marketing, PR (including regular talk show spots on national TV!) and support was done by one person - me!
- My first job at gifted me a love of systems. Having something that will produce the same result over and over that can be scaled later became a passion for me in business.
- At 18 I worked as Assistant Editor at - New Zealand's only magazine for youth at the time
- At 19, with two published books under my belt I served as the President of the National Speakers Association chapter in Wellington, New Zealand. For two years prior I had been traveling the world, speaking about parenting teens, youth in the workplace and since Facebook had just become popular among teens, I was getting invited to speak about social media marketing for business
- At 20 I launched a social media company (that's still going strong!) where we hired youth to help businesses with their social media needs
- I went back to University a second time shortly after and graduated with a double major in Human Resources and Accounting which gave me a theoretical foundation for what I had already been doing for years at that stage
- For 5 years I worked alongside online marketers and with my love of systems and human resources was able to help streamline various processes, save marketers money and help them and their clients grow (more on this in one of the next posts!)
- My husband and I caught the travel bug while on our honeymoon which resulted in us traveling the world and seeing over 27 countries (and counting) while working from our laptops
- I love creating and seeing people systems work

Many years ago when my husband and I were running our online software business, we came across a situation when we were getting between 10 and 1000 support queries every day that a contracted support agency of four people were not handling!

So I set out to try find answers to questions like...

After much searching, I found all the answers to these questions.

⏳️ We halved the time it was taking the support agency
👨💻 We hired one full time support person which gradually became five agents in total over the next year
💸 We realized that our support agents could also double as great sales people and as a result they started helping turn around unhappy customers, retain them and even upsell other products and services. We were able to train up the new agents to be in line with our vision and brand which was really important.
💰 Most importantly, the first person we hired was just $5 an hour, which also gave us room for more promotions as time went on and they became more invested in the company.
