A Research Dissertation for Sumner Residents:
This anonymous survey is part of my Masters Degree dissertation and aims to find out how you would prefer to receive information about sea level rise: a climate change related risk that may affect many parts of New Zealand, including Sumner. You will also be asked some questions about yourself, however; your answers are confidential and no identifying
information about you will be taken or stored. Survey results may inform communicators on how best they can talk about potential sea level rise risks to communities in New Zealand. The results may also be published in journals and conference papers and will be available through the Ara Institute of Canterbury Library.
· I am interested only in Sumner residents over 18 years old and you will complete a series of multiple choices questions and one long form question over about 5 minutes. Your participation is voluntary and this survey has been approved by the Ara Institute of Canterbury Human Ethics Committee.
· In completing this survey, you are agreeing to your answers being used for the purposes of the research. The information will only be accessed by myself or my academic supervisors. In accordance with the Privacy Act 2000, survey data will be held securely for five years in the cloud under password protection and will not be distributed to third parties. When this information is no longer required for research purposes, official Ara procedure will be followed to dispose of the research data.
