Supporting people on low incomes - access complementary therapies to support their health & wellbeing

Chatsworth Wellbeing Centre is a newly established not-for-profit set up to provide a space for people on
low incomes to access complimentary therapies to support their health and wellbeing. Over the coming 2 years, we will be renovating an unused building on Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield that
will become our physical home. Whilst the redevelopment project takes place, we are keen to get
underway and begin to provide therapeutic support to people within Chesterfield and North East
Derbyshire.

❄️Embrace Natural Light- Spend time outdoors to soak up sunlight, crucial for mood and vitamin D.

❄️ Stay Active - Winter workouts can be indoors or outdoors- find activities you enjoy to stay active.

We have a real treat for you at our monthly Chronic Fatigue Recovery Group this November!

It's our pleasure to be welcoming Sally Ann Atkinson to join us on 29th November to share her knowledge, experience and wisdom around pacing, something that many people with Chronic Fatigue have encountered but struggle to get to grips with.

Sally has worked as a Specialist Occupational Therapist in Mental Health for over 20 years, so has known the importance of pacing in being able to function and engage in meaningful activity. Even with this degree of familiarity with Pacing, Sally found it really difficult to put into practice when diagnosed with long covid in January 2021, especially when returning to work, continuously going through the energy levels boom-bust cycle. However, once she got to grips with it, she realised how essential it was for her recovery.

Sally has been fully recovered since October 2022 and is keen to share with us what she has learnt, along with top tips to help pace successfully.

Having regained her energy, Sally is training to be a wellbeing coach and specialist practitioner in chronic fatigue. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences to enable others to recover.

Morning guys .
We hope you are all safe 🙏 firstly.

So, heartbreaking in right now.

So many businesses and homes effected by the storm yesterday.

is one huge mop up project.
The countless effect this will have on businesses and homes not only on Chatsworth Road but so many other areas around Chesterfield is devastating 😢.

Heartbreaking stories 💔 that have hit so many hard.

Right at the heart of disaster I witnessed some great communities yesterday, just helping one another.
This is going to take a while to recover.
Then the ripple effects.

The guys at Chatsworth Wellbeing Centre want to say our thoughts are with you and anyone the floods have effected.

Keep talking / venting / sharing .

Let's show the world how the people of Chesterfield do compassion and community.

Stay safe 🙏 ❤️

✨World Mental Health Day 2023✨

We know all too well the challenges that people face when it comes to mental health.

No one should have to go through this alone and we urge you to talk about it.

💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

The Mental Health Foundation have the following advice to give those that want to talk about their mental health:

1. Choose someone you trust to talk to

This might be a friend, family member or a colleague. Or you might be more comfortable talking to someone you don’t know, for example, through a support helpline. It can help to do a pros and cons list about talking to someone.

2. Think about the best place to talk

It’s important to choose a place where you feel comfortable enough to open-up. You might want to choose somewhere private where you’re less likely to be disturbed. You also might want to talk while you do an activity, like walking together.

3. Prepare yourself for their reaction

Hopefully, you will have a good experience when you open-up to someone. But there’s a chance that they may not react in the way you hope. This may be for different reasons, like they may be worried or not fully understand at first. If that’s the case, try to give them time to process what you’ve told them. It might help to give them information to read to help them understand. And don’t forget to be kind to yourself and practise self-care.

In a world where we often feel pressured to say yes to every request, remember that it's perfectly okay to say NO when necessary. Your well-being should always be a top priority.
