Some of these harmful chemicals that we need to avoid are:
β No Synthetic Fragrance aka "Fragrance": these fragrances absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream where they impose health risks such as endocrine disruption, allergies. It also frequently contain phthalates which are associated with hormone disruption.
β No -paraben: these are preservatives. They mimic the behavior of estrogen in the body and are associated with endocrine disruption, cancer. Please try to avoid skin care/personal care with -Paraben such as propylparaben, butylparaben, methylparaben and any ingredients with -paraben on it.
β No Triclosan: It is a substance that is used as an antibacterial agent in hand soaps. Risks are that it accumulate over time in the body and can cause hormonal imbalance and organ system toxicity.
β No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS): It is very common surfactant found in many soaps and other cleaning products for body and home. What is surfactant? It acts as both foaming agent and a detergent that removes fat, oil and grease. SLS has been linked to Skin irritations and allergic reactions such as eczematous dermatitis.
βββAlways read the label even it says "natural".
