To be honest, I didn’t realize how bad things could get so fast. I know pregnancy can be complicated, and the third trimester can be the hardest. I’m just thankful my Ob/Gyn, Dr. Wiyatta B. Freeman, MD was paying close attention and made great decisions that led to a safe delivery saving my life and my baby’s life. I don’t want to give any spoilers so you’re going to have to watch the video for the details. the in bio to watch on YouTube.

Today we mourn the loss of a mother, doctor, wife and friend. Reading her story just hit way too close to home. I feel so sad for her husband and new daughter as they have to move on without her. Dr. Chaneice may you rest in power. We will be here working in your memory to make things better for black mothers and all mothers.

This quote speaks to me as I reflect on my journey as doctor, entrepreneur and mother. How would I have gotten here without so much support from women in my life encouraging me and cheering me on? I aim now to pay it forward and back. To all those starting something, you’ve given me something to pour back into you and into others. Women, Queens, let’s rely on each other for the strength to reach our goals and become successful. #👸🏾👸🏾

Taking flight & not looking back

Timeline Photos 30/12/2019

2019 has been a fascinating year, in fact the last decade has been one amazing ride! This year, I made the choice to embark on one of my biggest dreams. I was so scared at first. To be honest, I still get nervous. Starting a business is challenging but starting a medical practice is even more nuanced, and falling out of favor in the medical community. I took the leap anyway. I created my own funding plan, and educated myself on managing business finances and making executive decisions. So far, I don’t regret my decision. I feel free from bloated administration, punching a clock, and bureaucracy. I feel like I have the opportunity to really make a difference while exploring my purpose and passion. I know this is literally the beginning; there is so much more in store. I’m looking forward to each new day, the new year, and the next decade!

“Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.” ✨I am thankful for my sisters who have been with me through thick and thin. I can’t imagine my life without each of these beautiful women cheering me on every step of the way

At 4 yrs old, I expressed the desire to become a doctor. At 4 yrs old, my father-Michael Giles-was shot and killed. But my story did not spiral into tragedy. Earl Favors married my mother and basically adopted me and my sister as his own children. He did not hesitate to support my budding dream to become a doctor. To help it along, he taught me the importance of education, completing tasks, financial management, and even business. He has continued to be present through all of life’s ups and downs and he has definitely been there supporting me on my medical journey. He crushes the myth of the absent black father every day! Hey dad, thank you for literally everything and I love you to the moon and back 🌝❤️
