Pandan may be the crowd favourite with both the young and the old, but we like to keep things fresh and delightful at Floof. Our new flavour drop is just around the corner - keep your eyes peeled!

Hump day’s officially over!! 🥳 It’s been blazing hot the past couple of days, so we hope you’ve been keeping cool with an ice-cold plate of orange chiffon cake.

Wait, was I supposed to say juice?? Well, cake’s better anyway, don’t you think? 🌚

Weekdays are always easier when you have cake. Orange you glad it’s the weekend now, though? 🍊

New look, who dis? 💃🏻

It was a whirlwind when we first started taking orders - did you know we didn’t even have our IG profile up before that? The cakes were literally the only ones ready for debut 🙈Packaging, logo, and pretty much everything else were works in progress for as long as we felt this to be a whim.

But it didn’t feel heartening to be scrappy about Floof, not while our endgoal was to support bakermama’s passion - and that’s why we cleaned up our look! Besides branding (because you guys love aesthetik tings), it represents our commitment to help Floof grow 💪🏻

Of all our specialty flavours, Gula Melaka’s seen the most enthusiasm and love from you guys - woot woot!! 🥰

It took bakermama several experiments to get the right fluffiness; the original recipe called for more flour and sugar than what’s used in pandan cake, and yielded something not unlike a pound cake. Besides reducing these measurements, she also tried adding the ingredients in varying sequences to see if it would make a difference.

Did these methods work? Well, let’s just say we wouldn’t be featuring Gula Melaka Chiffon Cake if they didn’t 😉

It's time we told our story.

Our mama loves baking. Be it muffins, cheesecake, or cookies, she's tried her hand at them over the past decade. Her favourite bake- well, the family’s favourite, has always been pandan chiffon cake.

You know how at grandma’s place, you’d always have too much to eat? Well, that was us with the cake, because our mum stops at nothing till she gets it right. I don’t remember how it tasted when she started out; but according to my dad, she spent countless hours perfecting it to be the floofy cake you know today.

The idea of Floof has always been there, cradled by a single woman's love for baking and dream of starting a bakery. But it took another few years of egging her on and, ironically, COVID to get her off her t***y. My sis and I were newbies at this too, with our own reservations to overcome. But becoming business owners meant caking on the thickest skin to whisk up a storm online - that we did, and ‘lo and behold, we were open for business.

Tbh, it's still bizarre knowing that we've been operating for two months now. There is a glimmer of hope that this might turn into something big, something more; at this moment, though, we hold infinite gratitude and fondness for everyone who's supported us - you know who you are. We want you to know that it means the world to us.
