Sal Thomas Author
Sal Thomas likes to string words together, hopefully in an amusing order. BBC Comedy once described her as 'that woman who keeps on sending us scripts'.
She has performed as a stand-up, starred in an Edinburgh sketch show, tried her hand at film writing and sitcoms (all to zero financial acclaim) and finally settled on romcom novels as her genre of choice after realising the world can never have enough of the mirth-filled mushy stuff. She lives in Manchester, UK, with her husband and son - the two loves of her life. Her side hustle is managing her rampant anxiety.
Found this in our holiday gaff. Mostly enjoyed (some great lol moments) save for the ending, which fell flat for me.
Valencia: A Short Story....Went to the central market. Queued for twenty five minutes for some massive olives. Carried them around for about 15,000 steps. Accidentally left them in the last place we stopped before we headed home. The End.
Never done the half term sunshine jaunt thang before, but is bringing me round to the whole idea.
Rather taken with this old dame, seen on a wall in Valencia. Thinking she might make it into the next book.
Larks aplenty in this saucy little throwback from Mark Gatiss, acquired from the local charity shop. A bit 39 Steps-ish, but with more jokes and so**my. I'm sure he pitched it differently to Simon & Schuster though...
This kept me up far later than it should have done last night. Love me a , but I think this was my fave so far. History. Mystery. Romance. Philosophy. And a dog with issues. Ate it right up x
Decisions decisions....
Somewhat late on the admin (nothing new there), and I totally ate the chocs featured in this pic (now replaced) but the results of my blog tour prize draw are in, and is the winner! DM me to arrange delivery! X
Some potty-mouthed motivation for anyone needing to hear this today....
Me: ''Hey dad. Don't forget to review my book, but be subtle, yeah?!"
Dad: "Don't worry. Noone will suspect a thing...."
Current view. Not too shabby....
Fairly spooky corridor in my Copenhagen hotel. Just waiting to come face to face with some dead twins...
Available now for the shockingly bargainous price of 99p. Not as filling as a Pot Noodle, but definitely more nutritious.

First sighting out in the wild (and possibly the last, given how this was my lovely local bookshop who I strong-armed into stocking it) but who cares?! I'm taking the win!
Me getting incredibly sweaty trying to box out some pre publication day jitters. It has not worked....
When the hotel you're staying in comes complete with BOOKS! 😍
One week to go!!!
Storm Antoni jeffed off long enough for us to have a warm beer in the freezing cold. Cheers!
That's my first Emily Henry under my belt. Thought the bants, characters, layers, plotting etc were fab. Less certain about the volume of metaphors. At times felt like a water cannon to the face. But bloody hell, top marks for being able to conjure up so many!
Just after this was taken a red kite landed on a nearby gatepost and two deer frolicked across yonder hill. Berkshire giving a very good account of itself on our weekend away.
Finally getting round to listening to this 🎧. So far so wish I had bangs.
Enjoying this so much, decided to co-ord my socks with it.
A thought-provoking evening spent in the company of last night at . Not looking forward to 'the p**n chat' with the ten year old. Although has to be done. In my day I found a tatty copy of the karma sutra and then spent thirty years thinking a eu**ch was a magical creature!
The Harper Collins author party after-party.
Really enjoyed movie. Not yer average RomCom, and all the better for it. Extra points for having in it. Loved her in
Happy Friday one and all x
I was absolutely blown away by how sparse yet how beautiful Small Things Like These was. Haunting. Heartwrenching.. Hopeful can't wait to get stuck into Foster next.
A good old fashioned old fashioned. Albeit with hickory smoke. And rosemary syrup. But otherwise an old fashioned old fashioned.
As birthday cards go, this one is fairly brilliant.
Saw this fella out on a walk today. Mandarin ducks. In Manchester. Who would have thunked it?
Been having a nose at what my fellow authors have been up to recently. Really enjoyed this from .freeman_author. Got to relive classic RomCom movie scenes in a warm hug of a book. When Harry Met Sally is one of my all time favourite Nora Ephron movies, so it was great to read their namesakes find their love groove in this.
Hubby knocking it out the park on lunch today.
I read Money back when I was in my twenties, so this has been in my TBR pile for a while. But today feels like a good day to finally get my arse into gear. RIP Martin Amis.
You know that thing when you see a new has been released on your chosen streaming platform, and you get all excited, then you 🍅 it and realise it is absolute dogsh*t? Well, isn't like that. It is an utter confection of joy and brilliance, with a soundtrack that is certified FRESH. Go watch it. Go go go.
I try to do a crossword every day to keep the gelatinous mass of goo in my head ticking over. But either these crosswords are hard, or my brain fog has taken on proportions recently, because I am absolutely sh*te at them!
Finally got round to signing up to . It's the first magazine subscription I've had since The Dandy. Sadly no Desperate Dan's Pie Eating Club membership card, but loads of brilliant writerly advice and some sobering reading on the average earnings of authors.
When Wambsgams was Darcy.... Unbelievably, have never seen this version of before, but with the hubby away on a lads' poker holiday, thought I'd crack this and a bottle of Tesco Finest port open. Neither disappointed 💕❤️🤤🥲
