Are you tolerant of your void?

Today's Eclipse.

The Eclipse wow and all these phenomena that are happening in the sky, what is it in it for us?
We are the stars, we are the Cosmos, we are so interconnected. Did you know in our precious DNA there is an amino acid the same that is found in deep spheres of the stars?! We are made of stardust literally.

The Eclipse is the powerful time to shift your consciousness. It is the great VOID, the stillness, the silence. Can you tolerate the void? Everything comes form it and goes back to it.
Some impatience might rise up, anger, frustration. It is simply hard to stay in the void. That is why this time is so potent for your Contemplation as you can go deeper into the stillness and be ok with it.
Today do not hassle. Simply rest, contemplate with any practice that resonates with you. Nature is a great playground for contemplation.

It is also a great time to receive a Guidance for your life, read your Galactic info and shift towards more Peace.

Most importantly, times like that are given to stop what we are doing, analyze, throw away something that does not work, find something that works to bring your to a state of more Peace, Understanding, Love.

A Short Biography of Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Bhajan was born Harbhajan Singh Puri, on August 26, 1929, in a part of Pakistan that is now India. When he was just eight years old, he began his yogic training with an enlightened teacher, Sant Hazara Singh. Later, he proclaimed Yogi Bhajan to be a Master of Kundalini Yoga when he was just sixteen and a half years old. When he arrived in the West in 1968, he announced he had come "to create teachers, not to gain students”. For the first time in recorded history, he openly taught Kundalini Yoga, a very old and sacred science for awakening spiritual consciousness within the individual.

A strong community quickly came together around these teachings and lifestyle, which he called the "3HO" (Healthy, Happy, Holy) way of life. Founded in compassion and a commitment to sharing teachings that would help free people from their pain and confusion, Yogi Bhajan’s mission was developed for nearly 40 years. Under his spiritual guidance, ashrams, yoga centers, Gurdwaras and communities sprang up all over the world. He was also a pioneer in the interfaith movement and a friend and mentor to public leaders everywhere.

In 1994, the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA) was founded by Yogi Bhajan. He said the acronym IKYTA is pronounced “ik-ta”, meaning Oneness. He said “It is very fortunate you have this Association. When I’ll be physically gone, search me out spiritually. You’ll need to sit together to do it.”

Yogi Bhajan left his physical body at 9:05 p.m. MDT on 6 October 2004. His legacy lives on in his teachings and continues to spread around the globe through all the people who practice and teach Kundalini Yoga. Today Kundalini Yoga is being taught in over 52 countries and on every continent by over 28,000 Kundalini Yoga Teachers.

We will have our traditional 11 days of chanting Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur, Akhand Paath (continuous reading of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib) and special Birthday Celebration Sadhana (see details below).

Join us starting on Saturday September 28 at 6:30 pm for 11 days of ecstatic chanting of the shabad (sacred sound current) Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur for 31 minutes followed by stories about Guru Ram Das. Each evening will be lead by different members of the community. Let your Heart become the temple of gold.

Akhand Paath

To commemorate the passing of Yogi Bhajan, on Friday, October 5th at 5 am we will begin an Akhand Paath—the continuous reading of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib over a 3-day period. This event is completely inclusive and welcomes any person of any walk of life. During this time, Yoga West will remain open 24 hours a day. You are welcome to sign up to read, to bring food, to sevadar—or just come down and meditate, drink tea, and eat!

Special Birthday Celebration Sadhana

On Monday, October 8, rise before dawn and gather with the Sadh Sangat at 4 am for 2-1/2 hours of chanting Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur. This sacred song has the power to heal, manifest miracles and respond to any prayers. After this special sadhana, We welcome you to gatherin the healing vibrations of sacred music and meditation.

Monday, October 8th, come and share the completion of the Akhand Paath directly after the 2-1/2 hours of Chanting. Followed by food.

Did you know this about your prayer flags? 🙏
1. They're rooted in Buddhist tradition
According to Buddhist legend, the first prayer flags were used by Gautama Buddha, on whose teachings Buddhism is founded. Devas, which in Buddhism are a type of god-like, non-human entity, would carry flags with Gautama Buddha's prayers written on them into battle with asuras, which are a type of demi-god.

2. The colours hold meaning
Tibetan prayer flags are bright and beautiful, but their colours aren't just for show. Each hue signifies an element — and the flags are always arranged in a specific order, from left to right: blue, white, red, green, yellow. Blue represents the sky, white represents the air, red symbolizes fire, green symbolizes water, and yellow symbolizes earth. All five colours together signify balance.
3. The flags don't carry mantras to the gods
This is a common misconception: rather, the mantras printed on the flags are carried on the wind and believed to spread goodwill and positive energy wherever they go.

4. There's more than one type of flag
While the square-shaped, horizontally strung prayer flags are arguably the most common, they aren't the only variety of Tibetan prayer flag you'll see being used at sacred sites and on significant calendar dates. Those flags are called lung dar prayer flags. Flags that fly vertically, which are less common, are known as dar cho or dar chen flags.

5. Good intentions are important
You don't have to be a Bhuddist to hang prayer flags, but there is a right way to hang them. While stringing your flags up wherever you choose to display them, it's important to keep good, selfless motivations in mind, in keeping with the flags' ultimate purpose, which is spreading positivity far and wide.

THE SECRET OF PROSPERITY

We live in a difficult age. There is constant distraction. In our 21st century culture of acquisition and consumerism, computers, television, movies, newspapers, magazines, and books constantly fill our mind with stimulating images. Our minds constantly fantasize, and we spend much of our time living in our fantasies.

The most basic teaching of Raj Yoga is that the mind makes a powerful servant, but it makes a lousy master. When we let our mind roam free, it takes us wherever it wishes to go—and there's always someplace interesting to go!

Through the self-discipline of daily meditation we can train the mind, learn its habits, and be alert to its monkey nature. It's just like training a pet. You talk to your pets, don't you? You praise them when they do the right thing and scold them when they don't obey you. Do you talk to your own mind in the same way? Do you watch it and train it, or do you simply let it take you into its fantasies and desires?

Prosperity doesn't come by scheming and planning. It doesn't come by imagining or fantasizing. It comes by expanding ourselves beyond the limitations of the mind and letting the Universe work for us. Consciousness is infinite. The mind is limited. We are each a single computer on the God Network. Each computer is small, but the Network is huge! If we let the whole Network work for us, then we tap into Infinity and our desires are all pre-fulfilled. So learn to meditate. Master the tools of consciousness.

Put a leash on your mind and train it to serve you.
