💦The Splash Pad is OPEN!💦
Beginning Saturday, May 28th the Splash Pad is officially open! Hours of operation are 9am to 7pm daily, weather dependent.
We cannot wait to see you and your families splashing your way through summer at Jacobs Beach! If you share photos on social media, please tag us!
We are considering this a “soft” opening for the season as we are still waiting on the completion of our brick walkway, final signage, and have a few more minor tweaks to make.
Happy Splashing!💦
📣Important Announcement📣 We ask that you and your children please STAY OFF of the splash pad and surrounding areas until the project is fully complete and open to the public for use. As you will see in the photos (swipe right) we are sad to report there has been some damage done overnight. Wet caulk paint was tracked across numerous areas of the splash pad and the brand new plantings were noticeably disrupted. We understand people are excited and kids are curious, but we ask that you please respect the posted signage and keep off of the area - this includes the splash pad, surrounding play equipment, berms, plantings and benches. We will announce when the space is ready for use and exploration. It is NOT OPEN for use yet. Thank you.
Sneak peak👀 at our tidal pool feature along the edge of the splash pad!💦 A fun little area along the edge of our rain garden. The plants for the garden are up next!🌿💦👏🏻
Won’t be long before these benches are draped with towels, the splash pad is bustling with activity, and shrieks of joy and laughter echo through the air!💦
Benches ready on deck for install! 💦
Stony Creek Quarry is ROCKing our world with delivery of these pink granite hammered stones that will line our rain garden! 🪨💦🪨
A little behind the scenes peek👀 at the climbing play equipment install!🪵
Our “wooden” play elements have arrived! We love the natural aesthetics that will blend in perfectly at the seaside, but the real kicker is the opportunities these features create! 🤔💭Did you know that:
🪵Climbing increases muscle tone and strength in both fine and gross motor movements.
🪵The act of climbing sharpens visual perception, spatial awareness, and motor skills as children decide where to place a foot or hand to move up or down.
🪵Climbing develops the vestibular system, which takes in information and sends it to the brain, which in turn sends out a signal to help with balance.
🪵Climbing develops motor fitness like agility, speed, coordination, and balance.
🪵Problem-solving and decision-making skills are also enhanced through climbing.

Made a splash today testing out the pipes!💦 All is good!👍🏻 Concrete coming soon…🤩🙌🏻
We’re almost ready to pour concrete!💦
Wrapping the week with the framing in place showing the outline of the splash pad!💦🤩
The splash pad is really starting to come to life! The smart point system (the 🧠 of the splash pad) is installed and the rain garden drainage is in place! 👏🏻 The crew is working on footing for the equipment and then will be starting plumbing. We just got word that the concrete may be placed as early as next week!💦🤸🏼♀️💦
Are you as excited as we are?!🙌🏻💦☀️⛱
Rocking and rolling right along! We are thrilled to share that our splash pad design will feature Stony Creek Granite Boulders!🪨🙌🏻 The Stony Creek Quarry in Branford, Connecticut has served as the authentic source of Stony Creek Granite for many iconic buildings and projects, including the pedestal of Lady Liberty🗽 …and now their beautiful stone will also adorn Guilford’s Splash Pad!💦 Our crew was treated to an amazing private tour of the quarry grounds…thank you, Stacy! You are a gem!
Check it out! 🤩 The area for the infiltrators has been dug!🙌🏻🚧 We are on track to open the splash pad with the beach!💦Have you grabbed your beach pass yet?!💦
If you’ve been by Jacobs Beach, you’ve probably noticed our worksite! Components have started arriving…which means we are that much closer to splashing this summer!💦👏🏻
