At 8:32 AM, August 4th 1983, I started my very first trip around the sun. Today I’ve completed my 40th. I left my 30s behind. It’s a bit perplexing at times; to feel the memories piling up, to really REALLY not be able to vibe with todays music, to watch the MTV awards and not know who ANYONE is, to look at a pair of Jordan’s like “yo those are dope, but uh, I need something comfortable…” to hear your doctor say “ok let’s work on this cholesterol.” 😂. But I’m grateful. So grateful. I’m blessed!!! God has taken me places I’ve only dreamed of. The memories I’ve gained are more precious than any amount of Gold in the world. I’ve got friends that literally I’ve known MOST of my life! Yeah I’m blessed. So my knees may ache, my cholesterol may be up a bit (I’m working on it), my back may hurt at times, and loose fit Nike clothing may become more and more appealing. But I wouldn’t trade it for a thing. Thank you to my parents, my amazing wife, my godsend of a daughter, my few ride or dies, and my friends for everything and every moment you’ve poured into these last 40 years of mine on this planet. Thank you GOD!!! You are REAL and you are faithful!!! Here’s to another 40 and hopefully more. God bless you all!!!!
