Everyone made it safely to Casablanca. Now they’re arriving in Tanger via the fast train.

And we’re off! Our Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul trip begins today. This is AFMSPs second trip with us, Moroccan Sahara Tours. The first trip was in 2020 and it was our last before covid.

I will ride in this vehicle to Tangier, about 8 hours, to be sure all is prepared for our welcome dinner tonight. Mokhtar will meet the group at the airport and ride with them on the fast train to Tangier, about 2 hours. 🎉🥂🎈Months of planning is rewarded today when the guests arrive!

Peter Breslow and his wife Jessica R Goldstein were guests in Morocco last year with their twin daughters. They had traveled around the world but never to Morocco. We were thrilled to show the country to them and they have become part of our Moroccan family.

Both Jessica and Peter had careers at NPR and Peter has written a book about his experiences as a senior producer for NPRs All Things Considered and Weekend Edition.

I just ordered the book and can’t wait to read it! Read more about it here: https://www.politics-prose.com/peter-breslow

After a long day…or two?…I’m in my apartment listening to the call to prayer, horns honking, and the AC trying to pump cool air into this place. Aside from the call to prayer, I might get confused and think I’m at my condo in Minneapolis!

Drove from Casablanca to Marrakech, just under 3 hours, and saw nothing indicative of an earthquake except dozens of trucks loaded with blankets and mattresses plus small vans w Moroccan flags draped over their fronts delivering goods.

Tomorrow I will visit Riad Baya and Villa Arabia.

Moroccan Sahara Tours has planned literally everything in this article for our guests at one time or another. And more!

Believe me—and this article—when it is said that Morocco is excellent for kids. I go so far as to say it is life-changing!

What better way to visit this country than with someone you know and trust planning the whole thing for you? Me and Mokhtar!

These Airbnb announcements make me so happy. Human nature, I guess, to be acknowledged with any kind of an award. Recognition payoff for working so hard on this business idea that started brewing so long ago. It’s rewarding seeing it all flourish and thrive. 🙏🏼

Just today I got an email from prospective guests who first contacted us for a trip in March 2019. After I put the trip together for them, they decided the timing wasn’t right. I thanked them for their interest and moved on. None of us knew yet what lie ahead.

Today, more than 4 years later, they reached out for a trip with us for March 2024. They are referral guests from one of our loyal clients and we are so grateful! (Ashley) 🙏🏼

Some of you have already sent your non-refundable deposits but couldn’t go on the trip for COVID or other reasons. Remember that those deposits are still valid for traveling with us so contact me to set your dates! These trips really are life changing events—especially for young ones…You know who you are, so I won’t tag you. Lol. 😉

This is the Avocado room at Riad Baya. It’s a room upstairs overlooking the pool. Each room is special, but this room has a really nice vibe to it. Of course it’s one of my favorites!

I will be featuring photos of the rooms at Riad Baya over the next week or so. The Argan room is a poolside room with two brass sinks in the fully tiled bathroom. If you leave the windows open, the birds will sing on the window sills. 💛
