How much should I tip my yacht crew? It is a question that a lot of people ask us.

It's a topic that's garnered quite a bit of attention and opinions. From captains who believe it's a no-go, to yacht managers who emphasize personal appreciation methods, and yacht owners themselves reflecting on the fine line between business and personal.

Should yacht owners tip their crew when they use their own yacht?
The answer is YES and NO!

On one side, the yacht owner is paying monthly salaries to the crew, and the crew gets a lot of tips when the yacht is being chartered by other guests. A yacht owner should not pay tips while using his own yacht. One owner stated “I am very generous in salaries, and the boat is used only 20% of the year, the rest of the 80% there are no guests onboard. The salary and the benefits package are already above standards, so crew should not be ‘indirectly’ expecting tips.”

On another side, if the crew went above and beyond to create a unique quality safe time with memorable moments with your family then a reward may be due. The famous saying in the industry is “Happy crew, Happy owner” so it is important to meet their expectations in order to keep them happy and motivated.

Turquoise Yachts 75m superyacht Infinite Jest launched! ⁠

The 75-metre superyacht Infinite Jest, NB 69, has been launched in Turkey. Touching the water on 27th March, the superyacht features exterior design by , while Dutch studio penned her interiors.⁠
⁠
Infinite Jest can accommodate as many as 14 guests, with an owner's suite and office situated on a private deck, five guest staterooms and a VIP stateroom. She also features 10 crew cabins, a captains cabin and a hospital.⁠
⁠
Caterpillar 3516C engines power the yacht to a top speed of 17 knots, and she is fitted with Naiad stabilisers for comfort at sea and at anchor. With recently delivered 53-metre Jewels, Turquoise now has six yachts under construction including 87-metre Vento and 79-metre Toro which is next in line, with delivery scheduled for later this year.⁠
