So most of you know that I started my business originally as a Coffee and Cake business. Mainly because I thought if it made me enough to go on coffee and cake playdates during my third maternity leave then i would be happy. ☕️🍰

Little did I know a few months later it could be so much more than that! I still love coffee and cake and I still meet friends for coffee and cake playdates, the only difference is now that I make a living at the same time.

I know multi level marketing to some is unusual and its different to the 9-5pm. I know some people don't quite understand how you can replace a full time income selling online.

I was exactly the same when I started so if you want to understand please just ask! Even if it's just to appreciate what I do and not necessarily to do it yourself!!

🖤FROM BANK BRANCH MANAGER TO WORK FROM HOME MUM 🖤

Over 10 years ago if you had told me I would be working from home and being a 'School gate mum', I would have laughed in your face.

My only career goal was to achieve the position of Branch Manager and after 17 years with HSBC Bank I was fortunate that I had finally achieved this.

I had what I believed to be the perfect life. I had a great income, great husband, lovely growing family and worked with some incredible people.

Sadly overnight my life turned upside down when my mum was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer at the age of 54 and I heavily pregnant with our 3rd little bundle of joy!

I suddenly realised that my working life was missing something absolutely crucial - WORK LIFE BALANCE and time was quickly running out with mum!

They say that Multi Level Marketing FINDS YOU at a time you need it most and for me this most certainly was the case.

I have been able to build a successful business around my kids, be the school gate mum for some of my kids crucial years and was able to spend special moments with my mum in her last days with us and not sacrifice my income. Being able to take TIME when I wanted to be with her and not have to ask the boss for time was a treasure I will never forget!

I am truly grateful to Essens and what it continues to allow me to do and now I get the opportunity to show others how this can change their lives too.

Leaving my corporate career behind 10 years ago wasn't as scary as I thought it would be and having TIME to spend time with my loved ones is all that truly matters!

Money can't buy you happiness, BUT it CAN buy you TIME and that is the most precious thing in the world!

Take the chance, you have nothing to lose BUT everything to gain!

The other day I had a morning cuppa with a dear old friend.

When I started my home based business I was on maternity leave with my 3rd little person and I could barely afford a coffee and cake play date with friends without dipping into savings. Maternity pay sucks right!!

I am grateful to have cash in my purse to pay for a cuppa.

Don’t sweat the big stuff! Always remember your roots and be grateful for the little things in life.

I started my business over 10 years ago now with a simple vision to create a small amount of money to allow me playdates/ coffee and cake during maternity. I started to meet people who wanted the same and between us we realised the potential the business had to offer us.

Yes it's offered me amazing financial Security and an income that can we willed down to my 3 gorgeous children and their children!

But what I didn't bank on was the friendships! Like minded people, wanting better futures, more time with their families and financial freedom.

This is exactly how I felt about this opportunity. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I am delighted I grabbed it with both hands and now have a great team I work with who share the same ambition to be successful and make some extra pennies.

What we do this for is individual, I do it to allow me time with my kids and family. ITS BLOODY precious!

I am expanding my team again this month due to my recent promotion and have time to mentor and coach another 4 people into my team.

I believe in showing up as your authentic true self! This is what we coach! We coach honesty, truth, togetherness and support. If we notice someone is down we help them! THAT’s why are successful!

Be comfortable in your own skin and be okay with admitting you’re having a bad day sometimes!

Yes it’s massively different from banking but hugely rewarding in so many ways.

This industry really gets a bad name sometimes and sadly it’s not the companies or the industry - it’s the people! SOME people!

It’s not even about “women supporting women” anymore it’s about being a GOOD human.

Doing it my way!!! Success comes in all shapes and sizes. It can be getting the kids out to school on time, passing an exam, achieving the new house you’ve always wanted or simply having a shower and getting out of bed!

THE WORLD ISN’T LIKE IT USED TO BE…

There is a LOT of talk in our house just now about picking subjects for S3, Avas future career options and the old question… “what do you want to be when you grow up?”

It’s provoked a lot of conversation about how to live, the importance of being happy, striving for whatever you want in life and how to make money.

I was raised to believe that you went out ; worked hard, got an education and got a job that became a career for life.

This is exactly what I did!

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that but given that I NOW work from home, flexibly, around the kids, meet my friends for coffee often (too often 😂) earning a good income and am super happy has prompted a good chat.

Ava still wants to be a world class footballer and I truly believe her mindset will see her achieve whatever she wants in life. BUT she wants to have a plan B where she strives to fulfil a career/ job that makes her happy, brings joy and pays for the car and home she dreams about.

The world really is open for her and the different ways of working now is seriously so exciting.

I wish I was 13 again! Well actually maybe not! 😂
