collaborative sculpture (prototype 1)
part of series - things we don’t have
teak wooden figure in old burmese warrior attire
piece created in collaboration with wooden sculptor used to sculpting tradational wooden pieces from buddha sculptures to different “pan” or different burmese designs (mostly used for religious purposes)
before deciding on a design for the sculpture, i went around the wooden vendors of mandalay mahar myat muni pagoda and saw that most hand gestures of sculptures are close to being the same due to religious reasons, but the key was that it is a religious visual language that is understood by many after the passing of time
i think alot about the universal visual languages that can be understood within different cultures and countries, i then started thinking about hand gestures that are not only universal due religious means but more so became universal due to internet and pop culture of today
the one hand gesture we are familiar with without a doubt is the peace hand gesture that was used by the allied nations during world war 2 to signal victory, the gesture then slowly evolved to be what we know and understand today through many sentiments and the passing of time ( slowly became the peace sign )
the gesture is presented by a figure dressed in a war attire (upper body) and a more relaxed attire for the lower body, attempting to potray the figure not in war zone but in a more post war time frame with the most mainstream hand gesture for pictures today !

what a window do is really interesting to me, in a sense it shows you a world that is different from where you are, in a sense i treat my paintings and works like windows..
all emotions causes suffering, but rather than painting suffering itself, and rather than painting emotions, alot of paintings created are more of a reflection instead, sometimes an instant reflection while feeling things, but sometimes during a certain calm after a storm
after coming back to myanmar during a time like this i’ve been even more obsessed with what a window is… maybe because of the concept of escapism and how everyone seems to be involved in some sort due to all the happenings, suffering, deaf greed & rough disagreement between idealogies from the same homeland
majority of life satisfaction level is rock bottom
majority of people’s “healthy mental health” right now a just like thick make up, maybe beautiful and looking balanced on the surface but might not be what it is deep down ….
mental toxin, stirring within,
dancing current, tunes within,
devil’s baby, destructive within,
useless distraction, delay within

2021 london
attempted to do pixel art with no prior knowledge, just tried creating with the thought of one pixel per color
learned alot within the process from slight change of color’s effect and influence to how certain little choices make huge differences and how things can be just more suggestive then looking more like things in reality

almost all of the spray stuff from london
most of which i did within a night, i rmemeber feeling very dark and gloomy, very empty and lonely, felt very drained for no reason from day one when university started off with a fresher’s party …
I don’t drink like that, i dont drink socially and also dont smoke cigs socially like almost every other people my age in london and also didn’t feel like giving my time to parties…
maybe i was just oversensitive about london’s relationship with myanmar especially when my country is slowly withering after their colonization and how i feel as if they are responsible for some things happening within myanmar to some extent
