Lady Jo’s Art
Creating art primarily with Chalk Pastels, Watercolours and Inks Joanna Wallbank is a self taught artist from the island of Malta.
While always having had an interest in art and design, it wasn't until 2016 that she began producing her own work. Her art evokes local colours and landscapes through vivid chalk pastels, watercolours and mixed media. A member of the Pastel Society of Malta, she exhibited her work for the first time during their Summer 2022 exhibition. Her story is proof that new passions can bloom at any stage in life and its never too late to try something new.

This is 'Peace' my pastel painting donated to Dar Tal Providenza for their 1st January auction. It is on display in the foyer of the Houses of Parliament in Valletta together with many other works of art. Worth a visit if you are in Valletta.

Towards the end of august we had some incredible sunrises. I did a lot of early morning driving that week but never had the chance to photograph it. That image of a burning red sun rising from the dark sea has stuck in my mind ever since and this is the result😀
