Still being active within the community, projects aside, finding time for myself and for my self development, not to mention finally finding time to read some locally talented artists and writers. This time, 'Strada Stretta' by George Cini, a collection of photos and stories from the past with the inclusion of the iconic and original paintings of Paul Caruana. 🇬🇧 I had the pleasure of experiencing the digital art exhibition of a Valletta ex-resident Pawlu Mizzi, and I am deeply impressed by the impressive and innovative work that Pawlu Mizzi currently has on display in Mdina.

Dear Pawlu, your exhibitions over the years are and will always be a testimony of your artistic visions and with today's exhibition you have successfully mixed that element of creativity with the digital aspect.

You have succeeded very well in reaching the boundaries of what is possible to do in the digital medium. The attention to detail in every aspect, the vibrant colors and the dynamic compositions - truly, a beautiful narrative!

Tinsewx it-30 sena ta’ Governanza Lokali li ma pprovdewx għalina l-Beltin, għalina r-residenti.

Morna minn estrem għall-ieħor; u hemm bżonn il-bilanċ kummerċjali, dawn jistgħu joffruh biss l-indipendenti u mhux il-partiti pro-business.

F'kull lokalita' hemm bżonn l-infrastruttura ta' Drittijiet Residenzjali, u Protezzjoni ta' żoni Residenżjali - jien biss fassaltu u jien biss qiegħed niproponih..

Ftakru min kien hemm mill-bidu, dak li ħadem bla nteressi...

Il-Kunsill Lokali u Gvernijiet dejjem kellhom saħħa jiprovdulna Dar tal-Anzjani, Pavimentar Residenzjali, Stabbilta Kommunitarja bħala waħda mill-iċken popolazzjoni. U ma ninsewx li ebda naħa ma ħadmet verament biex tgħati dinjita lil għaqdiet sportivi u komunitarji.

U vvuttaw skond it-trasparenza, sincerita' u lealta lejkom li dejjem pruvajt inwassal.

🇬🇧 The final message for the end of my Campaign 'Not Politics...Community';

Don't forget the 30 years of Local Governance where both parties didn't provide for us...us residents.

We went from one extreme to the other; and there is a need for commercial balance, only the independents can offer it and not the pro-business parties.

In every locality there is a need for the missing FrameWork of Residential Rights, and Protection of Residential areas - we were the only ones that have drafted it and we are the only ones who are proposing it. Us independents work for the common good for the residents and that's where my party was created Residenti Beltin www.ResidentiBeltin.com

Remember who was there from the beginning, and that has worked without political interests. The Independents are a white flag that do not look at the colors, they work for the common benefit of everyone and the locality and not for any hidden hands.

The weapon of both parties is that of opinion; what is the use of them telling us that they agree with the residential parking spaces so that later they hold a unanimous vote to remove our parking space? What is the use of them agreeing with an Elderly Home but they never provided it for us? What is the use of them telling us that they do not agree with many things, they remain passive or let us plan and organize on our own when they were supposed to have a duty as the elected to take any kind of action as we see other members in other Councils?
.... After all these years I am proud that I was the one who was able to convey that message. The vote is the only weapon left for us.

The Local Council and Governments have always had the power to provide us with a Home for the Elderly, Residential Paving, Community stability especially when being a locality with the smallest population. And let's not forget that no side has really worked to give dignity to sports and community organizations.

Put your mind to it,
Vote according to the transparency, sincerity that I have always tried to deliver out there.

From here, I salute you - and I love you dear Valletta Residents, dear Valletta.

L-Etika, l-Prinċipji, l-Valuri toħroġhom minn ġewwa l-komma - tinsa lilek innifsek biex fuq spallejk igorr il-komunità li tħares lejk mingħajr kulur, biex dik l-istess komunità li zgħira kemm hi zgħira għaddejja minn tbatija tipprovdiha imqar b'farka ta' dinjità li tant kellha bżonn propju f'dak il-mument li sejħitlek mil-bidu nett.
.. F'komunità' m'hemm ebda lok għall-opportunizmu jew vantaġġi personali jew preferenzi politiċi. Tistennewx bidla.... tista' tkun dik il-bidla. Dan kien il-messaġġ il-ħin kollu.

Wara tletin sena, jisthoqilna Governanza Lokali ahjar.
Wara tletin sena, ma nhallu lil hadd ikasbarna - dak huwa l-ispirtu Belti.

⭐️Mhux Politika... Komunita'⭐️

🇬🇧 Honesty requires that once you start, you must complete the mission you have started to defend your community...

You have to roll up your sleeves, not only voice your opinion but organize and keep the pressure active... From words you have to switch to action...

Two years.... that my team and I constantly conveyed the message that the humanity aspect has been taken from Valletta.

The promises were not fulfilled by those in Local Governance... Their obligation remained towards the extreme commercialism.

There is only one week left for the Local Council Elections and nothing conclusive has been done.

Why should we believe that in the next election, any of the pro-business parties will work for us, for our elders, for the human aspect in the community? When within these past thirty years they have not provided us with a Home for the Elderly, an Open Clinic 247...etc

Waħda mid-deċizzjonijiet tiegħi bħala kandidat indipendenti kienet propju li ma naċċettax kanvassers, donazzjonaijiet, sponsors jew li jkolli xi tip ta' obbligu lejn ħadd ħlief il-lokalita u niesa.

Qatt ma emmint li bil-pjacir wieħed għandu jkisser żona sħiħa, triq sħiħa, lokalita sħiħa.

Il-komunita' kollha għandha tingħata dinjita assoluta, fergħat ta' għinuna b'servizzi u strutturi li jibqgħu hemm għal-generazzjoni wara l-oħra.

Il-kanvassers huma propju waħda mill-problema li l-Belt Valletta għandha. Jimxu biss fuq pjaċiri politici, pjaċiri li bihom jigu mgħomja u jipprovaw jimanipulaw lil komunita' biex tibqa' marbuta tahtom waqt li huma jkomplu jiġu assigurati l-pjaċiri eterni waqt li l-maġġioranza tibqa' tbgħati - din mhijiex il-wgħeda ta' ugwaljanza li wgħedu :(

Kanvassers huma turija ta' kemm il-partit politiku falla lil komunita', ta' kemm il-politikant in-kwestjoni falla u jiprova jigbor gieħu lura.

One of my decisions as an independent candidate was precisely not to accept canvassers, donations, sponsors and not to have any kind of obligation to anyone except the locality and its community .

I have never believed that with granting political favors one should destroy an entire area, an entire street, an entire locality.

The whole community should be given absolute dignity, branches to help us with services and structures that will remain there for generation after generation.

The canvassers are precisely one of the problems Valletta has. They only move on political favors, favors from which they are blinded by and try to manipulate a community to remain bound under them while they continue to be guaranteed of eternal favors while the majority continues to suffer - this is not the vow of equality we were promised :(

Canvassers are a clear sign of how much a political party has failed the community, of how much a politician has failed to honor his duties and tries to forcefully earn it back.

Where you see canvassers: stay away from them, and stay away from any politician who is surrounded by them.

A Master Plan spread over five years in residential areas, for pavements designed for a better and safer passage for the elderly, disabled individuals with a non-slip concept and to beautify and strengthen the identity reflecting the Baroque style of the Capital City.

The old stone tiles will be respected. We'll work to find out where the previously removed tiles have disappeared as well as any historical or religious object.

This Master Plan guarantees that every area and every resident will be included.

I believe that each Department/Ministry should only be given one or two parking spaces within its vicinity or in front of the respective Department - in reality, no Department needs three or five parking spaces, especially when during the last few years there has been a lot of abuse.
