25th World Scout Jamboree - Mauritius Contingent

It's been two weeks from now; From South Korea🇰🇷 to Mauritius🇲🇺: Our incredible delegation is back from the World Scout Jamboree! 💪

Overcoming the Heatwave🔥, Typhoon🌀, and every challenge thrown our way, we've proved that Mauritian Scouts are unbeatable. This survival camp was next-level, showcasing our remarkable resilience and adaptability. 🌟🔥

All our participants of the WSJ2023 proudly represented our country🇲🇺 to this International Event⚜️.

A heartfelt thank you to The Mauritius Scouts Association, dedicated organizing committee members, the government, parents, and all supporters who played a pivotal role in making this project a reality. 🏆

With unwavering determination, we're prepared to conquer any obstacle that comes our way. BE PREPARED! 🚀

From campsite to cultural exchange:

We left the campsite🏕 at Seamangeum due to the Typhoon🌪 and relocated to Yonsei University in Incheon where we found safety and beauty, joined by 15 other countries.

Exploring the vicinity of Incheon🏢, shopping👜, forging connections with locals🏵, and uniting through the cultural exchange—an unforgettable journey of unity and discovery! 🌍🤝🎉

Andeok Health healing Village🏞. A stay of 4 nights and 3 days in a traditional village where everything has been done to best share Korean culture🎎. Visiting historical sites, cafes, bamboo forest, wearing traditional costumes, sauna, preparing rice cakes, conversations and of course the food🥢! An unique experience of incredible richness and souvenirs that will last a long time ⚜️

On the 29th July 2023, Mauritius Contingent landed in Seoul🇰🇷. We were all warm welcomed by the WSJ2023 committee at Incheon Airport. The Units headed to the Jeanbuk Farm Village Experience Program🏯 and the Ists headed to the camp site for training📝. The Mauritian International Service Team (IST)🇲🇺 arrived on the campsite at around 4a.m in the morning🌅. After the registration we proceeded to the mounting of tents which was a tedious task given the scorching sun and heat⛺️. The climate is indeed against us,☀️ however, let’s start this journey.

Be prepared!!!

On the 23rd July 2023, the official Launching Ceremony was held in a unique place , Jet Ranch.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Excellency Eddy Boissézon; Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius 🇲🇺 who was himself a former scout.

3️⃣ days away from the D day⛺️, all participants symbolically received the contingent’s scarf from eminent guests present.

The participants’ parents👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, leaders of different participating scout groups⚜️ and protagonists scouts👦🏽👩🏼 were filled with joy,excitement and enthusiasm.

The organising committee who has been working📝 on the WSJ project since last year was more than proud👏🏻 the project will be concretise and the launching ceremony was done✅.

Months🗓️ of sacrifice, hurdles to overcome🏃🏻🏃🏼‍♀️ and relentless determination🏋🏽 of the organizing committee to made the ceremony more meaningful🌟.

And here we are🫂, bags packed… ready to embark on this amazing Jamboree trip.🇲🇺✈️🇰🇷

On the 16th July 2023, all the participants who have embarked on the WSJ2023 were gathered at the BP House for their first training.

From team building activities to anecdotes shared, the training had as objective to foster team spirit and preparedness for the upcoming event. Participating leaders and youths have worked together to making today’s event a success. A unique experience awaits us.
