Today, Tikonze Apapa Foundation organized a farewell party for Form Four deaf students under the Muchitadala Interpreter Project at Chiradzulu Secondary school. The event aimed to motivate and bid farewell to the students as they sit for their MSCE exams.

During the ceremony, the management presented the students with gifts and certificates of recognition, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. Muchitadala Chibowa, one of the students, expressed her gratitude to Tikonze Apapa Foundation for the support she received throughout her secondary education. She encouraged her fellow deaf students to work hard and prove that deaf individuals can achieve great things.

Rose Makondetsa, a special needs teacher at Chiradzulu Secondary School, urged the students to perform well in their exams, as their results will significantly impact the future of the Muchitadala Interpreter Project. The project, initiated by Tikonze Apapa Foundation, provides sign language interpreters to assist deaf students academically. Currently, in its pilot phase at Chiradzulu Secondary School, the project is made possible through funding from the Thomson and Barbara Mpinganjira foundation.

Last Friday was a significant milestone at Tikonze Apapa, as the Executive Director, Katiana LaFrance, attended the Siyakha graduation ceremony. Six deaf girls successfully completed tailoring, fashion, and design vocational training, provided by the Bantwana Initiative under the DARE DREAMS program.

The DARE DREAMS program aims to empower deaf individuals by equipping them with the skills and opportunities necessary for becoming independent citizens.

Together, we continue to support inclusive programs that create brighter futures for all. As partners sharing the same vision and goals, we are thrilled with the program's achievements in the lives of deaf individuals.

Congratulations to the graduates.

And we are also proud of our deaf designer Happiness Kalumbi who is the ambassador of the program.

Yesterday, deaf students enrolled in Tikonze Apapa's vocational training program undertook exams administered by The Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Educational and Training Authority (TEVETA). Seven of our students sat for the examinations together with students from other vocational training institutions.

We hold strong confidence in the abilities of our students to excel in these exams and secure their certificates from TEVETA. Our optimism stems partly from a notable incident during the exams: one of our students who is Deaf completed the test before others in a room comprising both deaf and hearing students.

This accomplishment is a testament to not only the effectiveness of our training program but also the potential of deaf individuals to succeed in diverse environments when provided with the necessary support.

We eagerly await the exam results and remain committed to Tikonze Apapa's mission of empowering deaf individuals in our country to pursue and achieve their dreams.

Today, our management team held an impactful meeting with the new teachers at Chiradzulu Secondary School.

The focus was on enhancing collaboration between teachers and sign language interpreters to ensure deaf students receive the support they need to excel academically.

Previous misunderstandings about the Muchitadala project were addressed, bringing clarity and unity to our mission.
We're thrilled about this progress and optimistic about the future.

Through teamwork, we can empower deaf students to learn effectively and feel fully included in their classroom and overall education.

The Muchitadala project is dedicated to providing quality interpretation services, fostering inclusivity for deaf students in Chiradzulu and eventually nationwide.

Today's meeting marked a significant step forward in this endeavor.
We're fully committed to supporting the deaf students in Chiradzulu Secondary School every step of the way.

Together, we can ensure equal opportunities for all students to succeed.
