The Sérénade mélancolique (Меланхолическая серенада) in B-flat minor, Opus 26 was Tchaikovsky's first composition for solo violin with orchestra, written in February 1875.

Tchaikovsky also arranged this superb work for violin and piano, around February 1875.

On 16/28 January 1876, Adolph Brodsky gave the premiere of the Sérénade mélancolique at the seventh symphony concert of the Russian Musical Society in Moscow, conducted by Nikolay Rubinstein, and he also gave the works' first performance in Saint Petersburg on 6/18 November 1876 at the first RMS symphony concert, conducted by Eduard Nápravník.

Les presentamos a los integrantes del Dúo Intermezzo:

MADDY NICOLESCU, VIOLA
es originaria de Rumania. Concluyó sus estudios universitarios de viola y Maestría en la Academia de Música de Malmö ( UNIVERSIDAD DE LUND ), en Suecia. Antes de residir en México, tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar y participar en Festivales Internacionales en diferentes países del mundo como Suecia, Dinamarca, Italia y Holanda.

Madalina Nicolescu ha participado en varias clases magistrales de viola y orquesta con Nikolaj Znaider, Ludovic Marlot, Criag Mumm, Miriam Harman, Dimitri Golovanov, Odin Rathnam, Roger Chase, Tatjana Masurenko, Tim Boulton, entre otros. Ha colaborado con la Ópera Regal de Dinamarca y con la Ópera de Malmö, Suecia. Actualmente es solista y músico de cámara, colaborando con varias orquestas en México como la Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Aguascalientes, la Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, la Orquesta Sinfonica de Mineria y la OFUNAM, entre otras.

Su discografía incluye: Cuartetos Mexicanos, e Imágenes con el Cuarteto Aurora. También es una talentosa pintora y ha desarrollado más esta faceta en los tiempos del Covid, además de realizar recitales privados y en línea.
En 2011 tuvo la oportunidad de presentar su colección pictórica de obras al óleo: ALMAS GEMELAS en el Museo Histórico Naval de Puerto Vallarta.

Como solista ha colaborado con excelentes pianistas como: Timothy G Ruff Welch, Rachid Bernal, Victor Hidalgo Trejo, y ahora Sergio Vázquez entre otros.

En 2018/2019 tuvo la oportunidad de estudiar en Toluca, con el excelente maestro Armen Agabekyan, profesor del Conservatorio de Musica del Estado de Mexico EDOMEX, como parte del programa de becas del SNGA INBAL.
Desde 2015 forma parte de la sección de violas de la Orquesta del Teatro de Bellas Artes, también es músico de cámara y miembro del Cuarteto Aurora.

TIMOTHY G. RUFF WELCH
El maestro Timothy G. Ruff Welch es pianista colaborativa, coach, organista y director de coros. Concluyó sus estudios universitarios de Piano y Negocios en el Luther College en Iowa, EEUU. Realizó estudios de maestría en acompañamiento y coaching en el College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, en Ohio, EEUU. También cuenta con estudios de piano en la Hochschule für Musik, en Viena, Austria.

Welch ha tenido la oportunidad de trabajar en diferentes países del mundo, como Inglaterra, Escocia, Francia, Alemania, España, Austria, Hungría, República Checa, Israel, Colombia, Ecuador, Cuba, Canadá, México, y Estados Unidos. Antes de mudarse a México, durante veinte años la ciudad de Chicago fue su residencia, donde llevó a cabo gran parte de su trabajo musical.

El fue Director Titular del Coro Municipal de Zapopan, Jalisco durante muchos años. Recientemente ha enriquecido sus actividades como director coral participando en producciones con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco y el Coro del Teatro de Bellas Artes amén de haber tenido el placer de participar como pianista colaborativo en el Palacio de las Bellas Artes en Ciudad de México y en la International Piccolo Competition (NFA), San Diego, California. Actualmente, funge como pianista colaborativo, maestro e instructor de piano y canto y Director Musical de Los Cantantes del Lago, Ajijic.

He resided and performed in Chicago for eighteen years before moving to Mexico, and now just like I do he also enjoys sharing his knowledge and artistry in this beautiful country.

I had a lot of fun playing concerts with him in the past and hope to do so again soon.

But most importantly finding new ways to share our love for music with all of you, during this challenging and difficult times is the goal.

He resided and performed in Chicago for eighteen years before moving to Mexico, and now just like I do he also enjoys sharing his knowledge and artistry in this beautiful country.

I had a lot of fun playing concerts with him in the past and hope to do so again soon.

But most importantly finding new ways to share our love for music with all of you, during this challenging and difficult times is the goal.
