I was brought into Hospital San Antonio del Lago de Chapala badly injured. Falling over 15 ft, my ankles and legs were broken into many pieces. The moment I came into the hospital I was treated with such care. Two surgeons, Dr. González Ross and Dr. Haro Gómez were there to assess my injuries. The chief of the Orthopedic and Trauma Group, Dr. González Urzúa assisted in this complex procedure. After 5.5 hours of surgery, 3 surgeons, and 1 specialized trauma nurse, they put me back together. There are not enough good things to say about these surgeons. At 76 years old, I have never experienced such great bedside manners. They communicated everything clearly and in layman's terms so that I could understand my injuries, the procedures to follow, the risks associated, and long-term expectations. They were available at all hours of the day and night to answer of mine and my family's questions. They gave us their personal contact information in case anything came up. I have never had direct contact with doctors in the past the way I had with these surgeons. They followed up when they said they would. Although I can not speak to the medical work they performed, the medical professional from my insurance back in the United States said they were very impressed with the work they did in putting me back together and that I was clearly in very good hands. The staff of this Hospital did not fall short of perfection. The nurses were at my bedside within seconds of pushing my call button. They handled me with such care and respect. I always looked forward to the cheerful disposition of every nurse. If I ever had a question that they did not know, they would take the time to contact the doctor for an answer. The floor doctor, Dr. Jara Rojo was kind, patient, and very communicative. Lastly, we could not have done this without the help of the Hospital case manager Gabriel Pérez Márquez.
