Hridaya Family
Come back to your True Essence, Reconnect to your Heart. https://www.hridaya-family.com/ This is the path of the Spiritual Heart – Hridaya.
This magical and quiet place is situated in the very heart of authentic Mexico (Chiapas) at an altitude of 2200m above the sea. We are surrounded by forests, valleys and mountains.
Our deepest aspiration is to share the authentic spiritual teachings of Hridaya Yoga in a loving family atmosphere...and to offer you a space, support and all the necessary conditions for deep inner transformation and
This silent meditation retreat was specifically created by Hridaya Yoga founder, Sahajananda, to guide people towards an intimate understanding of self-inquiry meditation.
The program aims to create an experience resembling a solitary meditation retreat (as in a cave). The silence and relative solitude and absence of distraction supports deep interiorization. In the intimacy with oneself, fostered by these conditions, the heart blossoms open and a living relationship with the essence of ones being becomes obvious.
This method is a unique integration of self-inquiry meditation and other non-dual meditative practices coming from the traditions of Advaita Vedanta, Sufism, Ta**ra, and Dzogchen. In the advanced stages of practice, all paths of authentic spiritual traditions meet harmoniously and merge into the same Ineffable Reality.
No previous meditation or yoga retreat experience is necessary as this retreat is designed for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
The essence of the Ta***ic path is the embodiment of awareness, our essential nature.
This retreat invites you into the experiential and life changing recognition of your essential nature. You will also learn practices for sensitizing the body and contacting the subtle/energy body.
Our intention in offering this retreat is to share simple, practical and incredibly refined methods and teachings from the non-dual ta***ic traditions of the far east. When applied skilfully and diligently, these methods quickly open you to deeply embodied states of radiant presence, intimacy with life, love and inner stability.
Daily practice will include silent sitting practice as well as practices in pairs and practices that engage the world, the senses and our relationship with nature.
Through this retreat, you will cultivate a deeper, more intimate relationship with yourself.
You will open to the expression of your true nature in every breath and every moment.
You will find more juiciness and meaning in the simplicity of every day life
May the honey of this recognition to shine through you actions, speech and presence.
*“The definition of samsara is a mind that parts company with the body. The definition of an awakened person is one for whom there is no separation of mind and body. To know the body is to know awareness. To know awareness in its pure state is to know the awakened state.”* –Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

All relationships go through cycles, ups and downs. Some of us cycle through relationship after relationship.
What makes some relationships thrive while others just fade out or descend into pain and conflict?
Have you ever wondered:
How can a romantic relationship become part of your spiritual path?
How to stop falling into the same patterns of disconnection and instead stay open in the face of difficulty?
How can conflict bring us closer and cultivate deeper trust?
How to maintain the fire of passion in your relationship when it becomes dry and flat?
This retreat explores these topics and provides practical tools (techniques, meditations, etc.) for building harmonious and profound relationships. It is an opportunity to understand and overcome limiting patterns.
Learn to relax and open into a relationship based on trust and unconditional love.

This retreat is a unique immersion into the depths of Self-Inquiry and the Non-Dual teachings.
Steeped in the ancient wisdom of Advaita Vedanta, Classical Yoga, and Non-Dual Ta***ic Shaivism. A slow meditative form of Hatha Yoga is also central to the Hridaya Yoga vision.
The retreats offers the philosophical teachings and perspectives of these traditions as a framework within which the practice of Self-Inquiry unfolds.
Ultimately the practice aims to peel back the layers of the conditioned image of self to reveal the unconditioned, or 'pure' essence of being, the Self, or the Spiritual Heart as it is commonly named in oriental spiritual traditions.
The revelation of the Spiritual Heart leads us to the very source of the feeling that we exist, or that fundamental aspect of being which is aware of its existence, as awareness itself.
The teachings of the retreat follow closely the Self-Inquiry method as taught by Indian sage Sri Ramana Maharshi.
Also embraced are flavors of mystical Christianity, Sufism and Buddhism.
Enjoy:
- The profound and effective Spiritual Teachings
- Being in Silence and going deeper into your Self
- Family Care & Love
- Freshness of Mountain & Pine Forest Climate
- Delicious and Healthy Vegan/Vegetarian Meals (gluten & sugar free)
No previous meditation or hatha yoga experience is required.
This retreat is designed for beginners and advanced practitioners.
Come and join us for this unique experience in a family like environment. We will be happy to take care of you.

10-day Hridaya Meditation Silent Retreat | Hridaya Family The retreat was specifically created to guide people in coming to an intimate understanding of what Self-Enquiry meditation is in order to experience the inner transformation that it brings. This method is a unique integration of Advaita Vedanta, Sufism, Ta**ra, and Dzogchen.
Remember when you did your last meditation retreat?
There was so much inspiration to keep the daily practice alive!
"It's so easy right, all I have to do is keep sitting at least 20 - 40 minutes per day and I'll be able to keep this amazing feeling of peace, joy, reconnection with myself alive."
"My life will be so much simpler if I just make this sense of connection to myself the main priority."
We hear this so often in retreats and in the sharings after them.
And for sure we have said and felt these things during our own retreats...
In fact , we probably have as many or more pages of journal entries stating our undying commitment to keep the practice alive and our unquestioned clarity about the importance of such a commitment to practice...
..Funny how it fades though right...
In retreat, without the distractions and demands of life its so easy to see what matters at the deepest level.
But back out 'here', wherever that is for you now, emails, cooking, texting, compulsive scrolling, it clouds the screen so easily hey...
.. Which is why we are now offering an amazing and inspiring opportunity to reconnect with the teachings (and with us!) right from your home.
Register!
And it's not just a 1 time experience. When you register for this retreat you'll get lifetime access to the recordings, plus downloads of the practice sessions.
As a special gift you'll also receive a separate and unique series of recorded meditation intros that will help you understand different aspects of meditation, like why we emphasize relaxation, how to be with your breath, surrender, inquiry and more!
Why are we giving so much?
Because so many online offerings are just a 1 time only experience, with no follow up or after care. And as you know, we emphasize consistency and strive to offer as much support as possible to keep that commitment alive.
With Love
Sasha and Kyle

Dear Community,
There is a Karma Yoga opportunity at our Meditation Center
- Enjoy the Freshness of the mountains & pine forests of Chiapas and a Family quiet enviroment
And Learn & Practice a lot!
Ideal start: November 1st
For details: DM or WhatsApp +52 967 706 4264
Our preference is for a 3 month stay that can be longer.
We speak Spanish and English, but knowing good English is very important (our guests do not always speak Spanish)
The basic exchange is 5 hours per day, 6 days per week.
From our side we offer:
3 meals per day (mostly vegan, sometimes vegetarian depending on the needs of the group).
Accommodation on site in a cute 4-bed studio (shares with 2 other people ) with a mini kitchen in it. Shared bathroom next door.
The opportunity to attend up to 75% of each retreat or workshop that we will offer. (your shifts will mostly fall in the breaks so you will be free during most of the teaching sessions).
In between retreats there will be yoga and meditation classes for the karma yogis, there will also be a number of classes specifically around the topic of karma yoga.
Starlink Internet is available on site 🙂
The responsibilities will include cooking, cleaning/housekeeping which will be shared amongst the team according to the needs of the centre and the capabilities of the team.
So it would be preferable but not entirely necessary that you have previous skills and experience either with cooking.
In general we prefer to accept those that have previous experience with Hridaya Yoga, having sat at least 1 retreat or attended 1 module, or those who have a depth of experience within other similar teachings/schools/visions.
We are looking for responsible, caring, hardworking people who are willing to serve from the Heart, to grow together, to face challenges (when such come) and who are genuinly interested in spiritual practice; people who love sharing, work with people and can be flexible and ,at the same time, love silence and peace: almost every month we run a 10-day silent retreat).
Also, for someone who is able to relate to their emotions & reactions consciously without affecting the work process;
someone who loves silence and enjoys serving from the place of love ❤.
Ideally, someone who will love cooking! (and be good at it!)
Karma Yoga in a small community may be very challenging, yet it is really a great opportunity to go through an intense process of inner transformation & liberation and to actually put into practice the spiritual teachings.
Please get in touch if you would like more details. We will organise a short interview for anyone who is interested in coming and joining us.
Please don’t get in touch to ask about staying for less than 3 months. We can’t accept pets, children, people staying offsite.
You are welcome to reach out to us if you want to become a part of our beautiful family ❤❤❤
With Love

One of the main things I think people get hung up on in Self Inquiry practice is looking for a sense of I.
We’re often told things like
‘Turn attention/awareness in upon itself’ or,
‘Focus on the I am’.
Awareness is not an object. By definition, it is always and only ever the subject of experience.
Your eyeballs can not look at seeing. Seeing is not an objective experience, neither is it an intellectual process, telling yourself that you see is completely unnecessary, both in the experience of seeing, and in the silent, wordless acknowledgement of the obvious fact of seeing.
‘I’ is the name used by the thinking mind, to refer to that which is aware of any given perception. Yet, just like seeing, this knowing of experience can not itself be known objectively.
The subject (You), of experience can never become the object.
True meditation then has little to do with your capacity to focus upon a specific object. It’s about your capacity to simply rest suspended in the groundlessness of subjectivity. In other words, you can not focus upon yourself, you can only exist. In existing, there is nothing to hold onto, only the birth and death of experience.
The only appropriate names for this capacity are Trust and Love.
I'm resting in a liminal state between waking and sleeping, yet still very lucid, contemplating the creativity and inspiration that’s alive for this project. ‘What is it that we are working on’, ‘What direction are we going with all of this creativity’, ‘How should I proceed?’.
Suddenly, a simple yet striking image appears. A man, sitting cross-legged on the ground, outside a temazcal, obviously in a moment of deep prayer and connection with the environment around him.
Uncertain of the meaning, yet sure that this was my answer, I closed the practice and laid down to ponder the image.
What did it mean?
After a few moments, I grabbed my journal. As soon as I started to describe the image, a layer of meaning flashed into my awareness.
The body was calling for more time spent in nature, more time spent among trees, in the forest, sitting on bare earth.
Great, I thought, a very welcome invitation and one that felt deeply relaxing and reassuring to feel into as I lay there. I wondered, though, what this had to do with the project that Sasha and I have been building.
No immediate insight came, and to avoid the temptation to overthink and intellectualize, I simply rolled over, intending to get up and continue with the day. Then, a second layer of meaning revealed itself.
This body is literally made of, in constant relationship with, and utterly dependent upon this earth. How can there be any legitimate talk of embodied spirituality without a conscious embrace of living connection to the greater body, our planet.
I live in the forest. I can see the start of the closest forest trail from the home office where I’m writing this. Yet I can count the number of forest walks I’ve taken so far this year on a single hand. I spend the majority of my time in front of a screen, either for work, for study, or for leisure.
Called out by my own body.
I’m truly grateful I started listening. This body is a gold treasure trove of insight, wisdom, and intuitive guidance for the unfolding of this life.
Here’s an idea.
What if ‘spiritual’, or simply, human life, was approached from an integrative, somatic perspective. One that considers the person that you are (including your personal history and your latent gifts and potential) to be the path that you are on.
Some might say that simply ‘trusting in life’ and ‘surrendering more’ will answer all of life’s problems. Theoretically this may be true. But what about when it doesn’t work?
This teaching is quite refined, and so many times, it is misunderstood.
With disastrous results.
All manner of avoidance and suppression (AKA ‘spiritual bypassing’) get passed off as genuine spirituality. Of course these mechanisms are normal, and to some extent, maybe even healthy protection mechanisms.
Our personality structure doesn’t always function so well when the entire rug is ripped out from under it in a single sweep.
In an ideal world, the process would be something like getting into an ice bath. You sometimes temporarily delay facing the discomfort with some unnecessary deep breaths and/or random, apparently-useful-but-actually-not movements, but then you pluck up the courage and jump.
Unfortunately, many people never stop jumping up and down when it comes to facing the savage truth of un-integrated psychological issues and the avoidance of facing the reality of their lives.
Unfortunately, many spiritual teachings, when misinterpreted, offer perfect hiding places for our bu****it.
Life unfolds through the body,
Unfinished ‘stuff’ lives in the body,
Maybe it's time to start listening.
Maybe your life and the world around you are constantly communicating the next steps in your evolutionary journey.
Maybe God’s guidance is felt in your every cell, in every moment, speaking to you through the language of lived experience.
Stay tuned, exciting things are coming.
You can also follow on Instagram to see more.
How many times have your relationships started out so sweet, so unique… ‘I’ve never experienced anything like this before’, ‘It’s like we’ve known each other for lifetimes’.
Hopefully you all know the feeling of waking up in the morning with so much aliveness coursing through your body that you feel you could build a house with your bare hands or run a marathon.
Some people say you only fall in love like that once or twice in a lifetime, but I would say otherwise. I’ve fallen in love like this many times. And I’ve allowed those relationships to crumble in my hands as I held them, in awe of the beauty relationship can bring and in awe of the pain.
I read something in a book by John Wineland, about taking full responsibility for the state of your relationship. His angle was his own and I don’t remember much of what he said. But I do remember that phrase. It stuck with me. It challenged and confronted me, intimidated the s**t out of me. Eventually it inspired me to learn from my mistakes, swallow my pride (or try to) and to lean into the most difficult part of the relationship, what ‘she did’ (said, didn’t do etc.’).
Of course, the difficulty is a shadow cast on the wall by fear. Seeing it as my own reflection and showing up to my relationship powerful, vulnerable, and not afraid of myself is some seriously empowering and inspiring stuff.

New Blog Post: 'Committed Relationships: The Key to Our Survival'
You know how it is, link in bio for the full experience...
Human beings are relational beings. Since long before homo sapiens, humanity has depended upon the close bonds of family and community for survival. Selfless love and trust were inherent to the fabric of existence, not mere concepts to be learned in modern workshops.
Imagine yourself on the Tibetan plateau, before cities, and agriculture. The environment is harsh, bordering inhospitable. Life is not a walk in the park. Every single person you know, which may not be many, in your small nomadic community depends on you to show up and do your part for the community to thrive. Likewise, you depend on each and every one of them showing up, forgetting themselves, and doing what is necessary to not die of cold or go hungry today.
Compare this to modern-day relationships, where if someone says or does the wrong thing they can be exiled from the family or friendship circle. Or where we can just swipe left until we find a selfie worth swiping right for, and if it doesn’t work, well never mind, there are thousands more to go. Centuries ago, this disposable friendship attitude would have meant certain death.
In such a setting, even if someone upsets you, regardless of the problem you have with that person, the love you share must run deeper. Not necessarily the romantic, sexual flavours of love, but the ‘you belong here as much as I do, your life and well-being are not more or less important than mine’ flavour of love. This is the level of love that would allow one to forget or overlook their grievances with another and still share food, fire and anything else that was needed with them, the kind of relational resilience that fosters deep bonds over time.
***icrelationships
In our vision, a spiritual path or body of teachings, must embrace all areas of life that are directly relevant to the life of the aspirants that follow that path.
If you live alone in a cave, then no need to devote time to intimate relationships. however the fact that you are reading this, suggests that you probably don't live in isolated mountain retreat.
I assume you live in this beautiful and weirdly wonderful human world, with all of its quirky cultural customs and uniquely modern interests. Interests like finding healthy intimate/romantic relationships and fulfilling sexual connections.
Also if you are reading this, then its highly likely that you have some level of interest in making those most intimate of relationships a part of your endeavor to live a conscious, fulfilling and inspired life.
Well your relationships can be come exactly this, a blessing to those around you as much as to you and your partner.
(If you start with you! All of our relationship retreats start this way, and it works, check the feedback in previous posts...)
This is the first blog post in a forth coming series dedicated to relationships and sexuality.
If you're into it, check the link in the bio for the full blog post, more like it and other bad ass wisdom with regards to having a body and being in the world as a conscious incarnation of the creative power that makes this rock spin and everything on it be beautiful.
