Self-watering tool is a simple and effective way to water your plants when you are away for a few days or have no time to take care of your plants. As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding potted earth, thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which automatic draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the tubes will cease flowing water.

😃 Fermenting & sprouting are ways that help me stay healthy.

Why bother to sprout?

Sprouting seeds is like fermentation.

🌱 Once sprouted, the nutrients in dried seeds, grains, and legumes increase many folds. Sprouting multiplies the minerals and vitamins’ content in the seed because its nutrients are released to help the seed grow into a plant.🌱

🤓 According to James Talmage Stevens, in his book “Basic Sprouting Guide,” Vitamins A, B complex, C, and E are increased, sometimes as much as ten times! Eating sprouts supports better health for our body.🧐

During the soaking process, enzyme inhibitors are inactivated. Proteins break into amino acids, and new amino acids are formed, resulting in better digestion. Water-soluble vitamins such as B complex and vitamin C are created. Part of the starch is transformed into sugars and some enzymes that help digestion are produced.🤩

It is easy to sprout. I normally sprout 1 or 2 tablespoons of dried grains, seeds, or legumes.

👍Sprouts do not require soil or fertilizer. All that is needed is to pre-soak them in water for 6-8 hours. After draining off the soaking water, place them in a jar with a cheesecloth over the mouth and secure it with a rubber band. Keep rinsing the seeds a few times a day and drain the seeds by turning the jar upside-down. 🧐Leave the jar tilted at an angle to drain off all water after every rinsing. At the end of 2 or 3 days, you will have nutrient-dense food at a very low cost.

🌱For me, sprouts are ready after the shoot emerges from the seed. I like to store the sprouts in the fridge and use it within a few days. I normally cooked the sprouts lightly by adding them to my dish when cooking has completed. 🌱
