As a Tamilian, a reader of Ponniyin Selvan novel, I assumed that they would have been dark-skinned as in the Cholargal (947 CE – 1014 CE) colony.

ஒரு தமிழனாக, பொன்னியின் செல்வன் நாவல் வாசகனாகிய நான் சோழர்கழ் (947 CE – 1014 CE) காலனியில் இருந்ததைப் போல கருமையான தோல் நிறத்தில் இருந்திருப்பார்கள் என்று கருதினேன்.

இங்கு கருமையான தமிழ் பெண்களை பெருமையுடன் பிரதிநிதித்து குந்தவை;இளையாபிரட்டி மற்றும் நந்தினி; இளையராணியாக.
