Thanks Vimala of your review. I especially appreciative you took this opportunity to highlight on bullying and to be a source of education and awareness to the younger generation on being supportive and empathic to children with special needs.

I have heard of stories from mothers whose children are ADHD, autistic or dyslexic which break my heart.

Their children found it difficult to socialise and having learning difficulties.

Sometimes their children would be the subject of bullying due to being different.

I have attached a recent conversation with a mother who shared her frustrations in trying to assist her children of special needs. (dyslexia and ADHD).

I have encouraged her, not to wait for others to bring in positive change.

We need to be the change to awaken, enlighten and educate others on neurodivergent community.

I have seen growing voices to raise awareness yet it is still not enough.

My son is also a neurodivergent (ADHD & dyslexia). He may be different, however I am not ashamed of him. I will guide him to love and accept himself in face of those who are prejudiced, unaccepting and more.

Children with special needs have a more challenging future because additional assistance is required to improve their quality of life and to create a possible future.

I hope I can be among the voices to help lower stigma, prejudice, misunderstanding on neurodivergent communities.

May I have the wisdom, courage and heart to help expand perception , open hearts to greater acceptance, empathy, kindness and compassion to children with special needs.

When my songs were produced last year, I was uncertain how the response would be.

I did ponder - would these songs be my last. If it is so, I will continue writing and singing in communities events (informally to the mothers especially) because I wanted to provide support, motivation and encouragement.

This year, my single, "Little Fighters" was recently released. I have received positive responses.

However, one feedback I received was from a young girl, who expressed that my song is too slow, and preferred a faster tempo with anime - ish style of singing.

It is OK, because this is her current choice in music. We do have our own preferences.

Will rest for a while, and back to studio once more.

I have more songs to release.

Let's see whether these songs can be ready by next year.

I used to be self-conscious as I grow into adulthood. Embarrassed to be myself, feeling as if eyes upon me and judging me on how I looked, behave, speak.

Then one day, as I grow in age, a metamorphosis happened.

Yes, I had been judged before.

Yes, I realised some preconceived ideas of judgment comes from my own overthinking.

Yes, I have made mistakes witnessed by others that had been embarrassing.

However, walking on eggshells has been tiring. I have been holding back. I have been overly cautious with my expression. Anxiety becomes part of my breathing.

Since entering my 50s, I feel freer. I want to express my playfulness. I hope to live with simplicity. I hope to create with the sense of aliveness, grace, gratitude and living.

I am still in early stages as a singer - Songwriter... I hope to continue singing, writing... Creating memories where I can look back and go, " hey.. I did that. What an Unbelievable, adventurous and amazing journey."

I hope you will live your life with a sense of wonder, adventure and smiles.

We mothers hope to continue our advocacy not only for our children. Children similarly like our own.

Let us make a better tomorrow and inclusive for our children.

To let our communities know there is still Hope, Faith, Love.

To let our children know, you may be born different yet you can still lead a meaningful and purposeful life.

We as parents will pave the way for a better tomorrow, for our children.

Daddies and mummies who have special needs children, you are doing good.

May you always be supported, motivated and empowered especially in your time of need.

"That's you? That's your voice?!"

He stared at me with wonder.

I told him I had training.

"Your voice sounds good! Wow. I have a singer in my (grab) car. I will inform my friends when I see you on TV or newspapers."

"oh. I am a very new singer. Only released my songs last year."

He shook his head a little.

"Your voice sounded good to me. Definitely you have fans who like your voice and songs. I pray for you to be famous and have many fans."

I felt moved by his confidence in me.

The conversation started when he inquired what I was doing earlier; recording a new song.

Before his feedback, a mother who have a special needs baby shared that," your voice is my therapy. Your voice sounds good."

I am glad my songs have given some positive feelings especially motivation to the mother.

That have been my motivation as a singer-songwriter - for my songs to be a motivation, inspiration and empowerment.

I recognise the power of music and songs.

I truly hope my songs shall offer Hope, Faith, Encouragement, Empowerment and Light especially to the listeners who need such.

Wrote a new song tonight.

Next step - to rewrite later.

My respect and appreciation is growing for the sweats and efforts of singers and music directors in the song development.

Today is another day of recording my song.

In the beginning I find this process intimidating.

Nowadays, I find myself observing and enjoying the creative process with curiosity, some fascination and better understanding of the flow.

Last month, I was among the recipients of Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis .

I met amazing mothers awardees who inspired and motivated me to do further with my purpose, life and mission.

Shining spotlight on supermums EIGHT mothers, whose courage and tireless dedication ensured their children with special needs have access to opportunities and care, were honoured with the Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis 2024.

Watching Oppa reminded me of the scam messages/experiences I have encountered over the years; my parcel got stuck in postage, my personal details used as part of a criminal activity and want me to transfer money to the police to "close the case", claiming to have met before and want me to connect with them, praising me to be beautiful, charming etc.

Most recent one was claiming that heard our business page is a clinic and want to do dental crown. Asked me to click on their link to check their X ray. These scammers are becoming creative, and some truly unbelievable.

I hope all of us follow the tagline, " Be smart. Stay alert." from the anti-scam movie, "Oppa".

On my journey as a woman, mother and in other roles I have such as a singer-songwriter, I am blessed to be given opportunities to experience Faith, Hope and Love.

This leads to Renewal, Rejuvenation, Recovery and Revelation that Life can be so much more than merely existing and to struggle against the tide, no matter the circumstances.

When I tried to build up my self-belief, my strength, faith, hopes, resilience during my times of need....many stepped forward without me asking to. To encourage, support and empower myself and Patrick whether in hospital ward, shopping malls, eatery places and more. My husband and myself were often amazed by these sudden display of kindness.

I am one voice, carrying many nameless mothers, some have impacted me whom I met only once. Yet enough to affect me especially my heart forever.

These mothers offer me Hope, Faith especially Love to me n Patrick earlier.🥰

Because of your Hope, Faith and Love given to us until to the point this overflows, I shall pass forward your goodness, your faith, hope especially of your love to others.

From my creativity, heart and will power, I wrote and sang the chorus of Never Give Up to my 3 months old baby in 2018 to encourage him resilience, strength and perseverance.

A few years later, at 6 years old my baby now grows up and sing this chorus to mothers and their children at Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia as motivation and encouragement.

Music and songs can give hope, encouragement and motivation to keep on going against the odds.

May these parents and their children "Never Give Up" in face of their tribulations and challenges.

I often heard in my 20s when reaching 50s, we will slow down, planning/ thinking on retirement and so forth.

However I find myself in my 50s, I am exploring new beginnings; mentally, emotionally, physically, creatively.

I could not imagine at 51, I am starting a new beginning as a singer-songwriter.

I used to feel embarrassed by my voice.

I did not see myself good enough as a speaker and a singer.

And then life happens. Especially ordinary people responding to me in what I do, and who I am.

Like this morning.

"You sing so beautifully. "

I looked to the direction of the voice; it is a man who looked like in his 60s, nearing 70 doing gardening.

I cannot help feeling embarrassed and replied, " I am practising. Later I need to sing."

He smiled and responded, "good, good..."

"Thank you"

Then I continued singing while walking to the market.
