Winged scapula refers to a condition where the shoulder blade (scapula) protrudes or "wings" out from the back. This abnormal positioning occurs due to the weakness or dysfunction of the muscles that stabilize the scapula. It can result in pain, limited shoulder movement, and compromised upper body function.
