Sleeping bag is one of the essential thing when hitting the great outdoors. So, here are ways to maintain the sleeping bag manually without using a washing machine.

1. Get a big enough bucket and fill it with clean water.
2. Pour in special washing liquid for sleeping bags, or the recommended detergent mentioned on your sleeping bag's tag.
3. Zip up zippers, fasten Velcro, and buttons on the sleeping bag before washing.
4. Soak the sleeping bag in the bucket filled with soapy water or cleaning liquid.
5. Gently scrub the soaked sleeping bag, softly rub the surface to remove any dirt.
6. For stubborn stains, you can use an old toothbrush to scrub them off.
7. Lift the sleeping bag and rinse with clean water until all the soap is gone.
8. For drying, try not to wring or twist your sleeping bag, hang it in a breezy area, and let it dry naturally.
