On 3rd June 2023, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang was inivited to the Mother's Day Programme "Madani Bersama Wanita B40" with YB Mohd Tuah Ismail, Adun Pulau Betong at the Lexus Hotel Teluk Kumbar. Various fun activities were organised such as zumba and cup cake baking for the children while the mothers took part in Mary Kay skincare workshop. There were stage perfomances during the hi-tea. PWM members could be seen dancing and singing together. The event ended with distribution of goody bags and lucky draws. Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang members sponsored lucky draw prizes for the mothers.

On 28th May 2023, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang together with The Learning Kingdom Education and ROSE Charities Malaysia jointly organised Parent's Day event at the main hall of Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang. It was a fun-filled event where all the activities enhance close ties between parents and children. Parents and some grandparents in blindfolds were guided by their children and grandchildren to walk through obstacles such as benches and boxes. Later, they cleaned the feet of their respective parents and grandparents. There were all singing and dancing by the children to show gratitude to their elders. It was such an engrossing event that kept everyone engaged including the special guests. Our YABhg Madam Tan Lean Kee, and PWM members are joined to help to guide the parents through the obstacles and to sing with the children.

Presiden Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara bersama ahli-ahli lain telah menghadiri Program Remaja Bersama YB Azrul Mahathir, Adun Bayan Lepas pada 15 April yang lalu. Pelbagai aktiviti telah diadakan iaitu, bengkel solekan Aidilfitri, bengkel berinai menjelang Syawal dan menyantuni warga PDK Sungai Batu. Solekan tercantik dan ukiran terbaik juga diberikan hadiah. Selain daripada itu, duit raya juga telah diberikan kepada PDK dan cenderahati kepada fasilitator serta PWM. Majlis juga diceriakan dengan persembahan para remaja istimewa.

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah officiated the opening of the Penang Darul Hanan Complex in Pongsu Seribu, Kepala Batas. She was accompanied by the wife of the Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri, Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor, and the wife of Penang Chief Minister, Madam Tan Lean Kee. The Darul Hanan Complex is a nursing home that accommodates about 80 senior citizens. Penang government, the Penang Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP), and Yayasan Albukhary provided facilities such as a gymnasium, spa center, and comfortable rooms, as well as management for the convenience of the residents. The Queen commended their good efforts. She also took a tour around the complex, giving out money packets and getting acquainted with the residents.
Madam Tan Lean Kee mentioned in her speech that the nursing home has been operating since the 1st of February and is being managed by Badan Kebajian Rumah Warga Emas Darul Hanan, a non-governmental organization under MAINPP. With the help of 41 staff, 80 residents aged between 57 to 90 are being cared for.

Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara attended V-Green Officiating Ceremony on 30th March 2023 at the ViTrox Academy. Our President, Madam Tan Lean Kee together with Mr Chu Jenn Weng, the President and CEO of VitroxCorporation Berhad, as well as Ms SU Pek Fuen, Senior Manager, officiated the ceremony. After a delightful V-lunch, our members were taken for V-Culture experience and company tour. We would like to thank ViTrox Corporation Berhad for welcoming us and for the great experience.

On 7th February, our President Madam Tan Lean Kee and members attended the launching of a drama performance known as "Star Ocean" by Min Sin Seah at Min Sin School.

"Star Ocean" was all about a mother who faced challenges in her life journey with an autistic child. Basically, the objective is to educate society about the challenges faced by autistic families and how earlier recognition of the condition could help with better treatment.

As a show of appreciation and support for this thoughtful contribution to society through drama performance especially regarding mental health, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara has made a small donation of RM 3,000.00.

As Chinese New Year is around the corner, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang had an early celebration on 14th January 2023 at the Flamingo Hotel with a few charity homes. A total of 10 tables were reserved for children and elderly from six homes, which are Peace Children Care Centre, Minds Association of Penang, Children Protection Society, Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged, Rumah Charis, and The Salvation Army Penang Children Home. They were served lively dance performances and sumptuous lunches. Our President, YABhg, Madam Tan Lean Kee, handed some donation cheques to all the charity homes present, wishing everyone a prosperous 'Gong Xi Fa Cai'. The dance floor was also open for everyone, where Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara members also enjoyed dancing and singing with the children and the elderly. It was a joyous event full of celebration. Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara is contented with the happiness and joy experienced by the children and elderly, looking forward to organise more events that benefits the society.

Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara has co-organised a series of Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Komuniti and this time with Parlimen Jelutong, which was held on 8th of January 2023 at SJKC Beng Teik Cawangan. The eventful program was attended by our President YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee, YB RSN Rayer, member of Parliament for Jelutong, YB Lim Siew Khim, state assemblywoman for Sungai Pinang and Dato Cheng Mei Man, Charter President of Global Federation of Chinese Business Woman Penang, who is also the sponsor of the laptops. The event started off with youth workshop conducted by Priscilla Ho Hoay Teen, which includes activities such as "Star Walk (Walk of Confident)", "My Name Its Gestures", "Drawing House-Tree Person", and "Understanding Our Brain Run Through Super Skills for Life". The mothers enjoyed baking Portuguese and pineapple tarts under the tutorial of Yeap Poh Looi. The children also enjoyed the fluid bear activity and baking cupcakes. Students of SKJC Beng Teik gave a spectacular "Gendang Tong" performance. YB Lim Siew Khim cheerfully complimented everyone who took part in the program, followed by YB RSN Rayer's motivating speech, where he acknowledged and appreciated the strength as well as the contribution of women to society. YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee also appreciated and thanked team Jelutong and Puan Komala, the wife of YB RSN Rayer, being a PWM member, for organising the event which serves the benefit of women and children. Following that, 15 units of laptops were handed out to the children from B40 families, and goody bags, loaded with groceries for their mothers. A pair of jeans were also handed out to all participants. Appreciation certs and fruit baskets were given to Dato Cheng Mei Man , as a sign of gratitude for the sponsorship, as well as to Priscilla Ho Hoay Teen and Madam Lee Ee Ee, the principal of SJKC Beng Teik Cawangan, appreciating the school's involvement in the program. PWM members were also given goody bags with souvenirs. The event ended with high tea for the participants

On 17th December 2022, PWM co-organised Program Ramah Mesra with Kadun Bagan Dalam. The program was attended by our President YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee, YB Satees Muniandy, state assemblyman for Bagan Dalam and Puan Sri May Lee Yuit Eow, the sponsor of the laptops, who is also an associate member of Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara. The event started off with youth workshop conducted by Ms Leong Min See on the contraints in the use of internet. The mothers enjoyed saree draping tutorial by Ms Clairessa Pauline Peters and free henna art by Ms Sobini Sanmughanathan. Later, a talk on financial management and budgeting was given by Mr Sow Yih Jia. YB Satees Muniandy and YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee thanked everyone who attended the event and to use the laptops appropriately especially for educational purpose. Following that, 15 units of laptops were handed out for the children from B40 families and goody bags for their mothers. A pair of jeans were also handed out to all participants. Appreciation certs and fruit baskets were was given to Puan Sri May Lee Yuit Eow, as a sign of gratitude for the sponsorship, as well as to Ms Leong Min See, Mr Sow Yih Jia, Ms Clairessa Pauline Peters and Ms Sobini a/p Sanmughanathan. PWM members were also given gooody bags and souveniers. The event ended with distribution of lunch boxes for the participants

On 15th October 2022, PWM co-organised Program Ramah Mesra with Kadun Air Itam. The program was attended our President YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee, YB Ramkarpal Singh, Member of Parliament for Bukit Gelugor, YB Joseph Ng Soon Siang, state assemblyman for Air Itam, Ms Grace Ho, the Managing Director of Belleview Group. The event started off with free haircuts for the participants, being mothers and children from B40 groups, followed by interesting workshops such as CPR & AED and homemade soap making. YB Ramkarpal Singh welcomed and appreciated the effort by PWM and Kadun Air Itam benefitting the Air Itam community. YB Joseph Ng and YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee stressed on the importance of technology in today's education and that poverty shall not be the barrier to education. Following that, 15 units of laptops were handed out for the children from B40 families and vouchers for their mothers. A pair of jeans were also handed out to all participants. An appreciation souvenir was given to Ms Grace Ho, as a sign of gratitude for the sponsorship. PWM members were all given an appreciation certificate. The event ended with distribution of lunch boxes for the participants.

Happy Malaysia Day from us

On 13th of August 2022, PWM co-organised "Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Komuniti" with Kadun Bukit Tambun, at the Dewan MPKK Bandar Cassia. The event was attended by our President YABhg Madam Tan Lean Kee, YB Goh Choon Aik, Bukit Tambun assemblyman, Datuk Dr. Florence Sinniah, Sneham Malaysia president, PWM members, and participants. YB Goh through his speech stressed the importance of information technology and education for the progress of students. In addition to that, YABhg Madam Tan emphasized the value of a harmonious and united family. There was a sharing session to guide women and single mothers facing difficulties by Datuk Dr. Florence. Besides that, free laptops were contributed to 15 students from B40 families.

"Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Komuniti" at Kadun Bagan Jermal was held on the 10th of September, 2022. The program was graced by the attendance of our President YABhg Madam Tan Lean Kee and YB Soon Lip Chee, EXCO for Youth and Sports cm Bagan Jermal state assemblyman. Also present were PWM members, JPWK members, VIPs and sponsors, facilitators, and participants (Mothers and children). The participants enjoyed the Apron Sewing Workshop and Snow Skin Mooncake Workshop while there were also interesting activities for the children such as team building and video sharing. The participants were presented with jeans, a food basket, mooncakes, tablets for the children, as well a certificate of appreciation. YABhg Madam Tan Lean Kee and YB Soon Lip handed out souvenirs to each other. At the end of the program, lunch was provided. Altogether it was a fruitful event, where we could get together with members of the community to give back to the community. PWM would like to thank YB Soon Lip Chee and his team for the eventful day

PWM visited Penang Care Association today as one of our charity visit appreciating NGOs of Penang. Penang Care Association provides care for the elderly. Initially, they had provided home care services but currently they are providing day care services, where working children may send their elderly parents to the centre before leaving to work and fetch them home later, with a fee of RM50 per day. The elderly are well taken care of, where they play games, do some colourings, dance and watch TV, at the centre. Our President, YAbhg Puan Tan Lean Kee presented some donation to Mr Leong, the founder of Penang Care. Also present are Pastor Alvin, the vice-chairman and Ms Ruth Chong, the treasurer.

Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara organised "Program Ramah Mesra bersama Kominiti" with Pusat Khidmat Adun Batu Maung at Penang Digital Library. The event was honored by the attendance of our President, YABhg, Puan Tan Lean Kee, and Batu Maung assemblyman, State Exco for International Trade, Domestic Trade, Consumer Affairs, and Entrepreneur Development, YB Dato Hj Abdul Halim, who launched the program. The program was attended by 20 single mothers and students from the B40 families. A talk on healthy food was conducted along with the demonstration of the making of 'nasi ulam'. Children were entertained with fun activities.

Our President, YABhg Puan Tan Lean Kee attended the launching of the very first 'Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Komuniti' at Kadun Paya Terubong, in conjunction with Mother's Day. This is an initiative by PWM in collaboration with YB Yeoh Soon Hin, Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, also Adun Paya Terubong, in reaching out to 15 B40 families, especially the mothers. The objective of the program is to motivate the mothers to build strong family bonds in order to bring up the children, being the asset to our nation, with moral and social values. The program also promotes social acceptance and integration of all ethnic groups. A unit laptop was donated to each family to enable children from B40 families to have equal accessibility to digital technology. Besides that, the mothers who have attended the program had a hair make over, while the children had Integrity session by viewing a short video and later discussed on the characters in relation to the importance of Integrity.

In conjunction with Mother's Day, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara visited the Golden Peacock Nursing Home. Our President, YAbhg Madam Tan Lean Kee presented a cheque of RM2000 and together with other PWM members, spent some wonderful time with the old folks.

Pengerusi Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara, YABHG Puan Tan Lean Kee, telah menyerikan majlis "Jom Belajar Buat Kuih Raya" anjuran Majlis Pengurusan MPKK Desa Jelita dengan kehadirannya sebagai tetamu kehormat. Bersama ahli-ahli PWM yang lain dan ahli ahli MPKK Desa Jelita, beliau telah turut serta membuat pelbagai jenis kuih raya.

Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara telah mengadakan Program Bubur Lambuk bersama dengan Pusat Adun Batu Maung pada 16 April 2022. Program ini telah dihadiri YB Dato' Hj Abdul Halim Hussain, selaku Exco Perdagangan Industri dan Pembangunan Usahawan, dan Adun Batu Maung, serta tetamu kehormat YABHG Puan Tan Lean Kee selaku Pengerusi PWM dan Datin Wan Zuraida Amiruddin, selaku Timbalan Pengerusi PWM. Turut menyerikan program ini adalah ahli-ahli PWM yang turut serta dalam aktiviti menyediakan bubur lambuk. Di sini, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara mengambil kesempatan untuk mengucapkan "Selamat Berpuasa" kepada semua Muslimin dan Muslimah.

A summary of our 2021 programs and activities. Despite the difficult situations due to the pandemic, movement control order and its strict restrictions, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara managed to play our role, reaching out to help and support the community, adhering to the strict SOPs. We continued to touch lives during these challenging times and will gladly continue to do so. Lets welcome year 2022 with a lot of positivity and kindness. Happy New Year from us again.

Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara visited the elderly folks of the Silver Jubilee Home, Sungai Dua, Penang on 28th December 2021.
The Home provides a positive, spacious, clean and conducive environment for the residents. Various facilities are provided for the comfort of the residents. While the sick are being well taken care at the medical wards, the rest are able to spend their time meaningfully, helping at the kitchen and recycling centre, gardening, watching movies, reading at the mini library and karaoke room is available for them to sing.
As an applause, encouragement and support to the dedicated and caring General Committee and staffs, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara donated RM5,000 to Silver Jubilee Home.

On 12th December 2021, Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara led by YABhg Puan Tan Lean Kee, celebrated Christmas at Peace Children Care Centre, situated at Persiaran Pantai Jerejak.
A fun filled celebration with 16 children, who took part in fun games, puzzle solving, Christmas song performance, choral speaking,Christmas caroling and story telling.
The children were further presented with goody bags, Ang pows and donation to the care centre by Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara. Not only the children but our members too had a wonderful time.
A joy that is shared is a joy made double! Merry Christmas from Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara!
