The STEM exhibition and career day held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Gambir on September 13, 2023, was a captivating and engaging event. Dr. Japareng Lalung from Environmental Technology, School of Industrial Technology, and Dr. Faradina Merican from School of Biological Sciences showcased their groundbreaking Antarctic research, offering attendees a glimpse into the mesmerizing world of polar science. Alongside their informative exhibit, they organized thought-provoking quizzes that challenged participants' knowledge. To make the day even more enjoyable, attendees had the chance to win delightful prizes, including soft toy penguins and seals, delectable chocolates, vibrant stickers, and eye-catching postcards. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the most challenging question: how many permanent residents reside in Antarctica? This intriguing query not only piqued curiosity but also underscored the importance of exploring the unknown and fostering a passion for STEM disciplines among the students. Overall, it was a day of discovery, learning, and fun, leaving attendees inspired and better informed about the wonders of science and the limitless possibilities of STEM careers.
