We made a quick pit stop @santuycoffeebar Kuala Terengganu to visit our coffee friends @mohdrifqi and @razieyhamid before we head back home from Kota Bahru. So happy that we made this stop and managed to catch up a bit. It's a small laid back cafe but they serve really great coffee there. No joke! 😋 Caught the Champion of Kopi Turas Competition in action as well while he brew pour over coffee for his customer. As time doesn't permit us to stay for long, we left in a little hurry and forgot to take a wefie with both the gentlemen. Hope to see them soon! @ngopi_hub has a unique set up. A combination of traditional and modern touch well mixed to give a sense of coziness and chic at the same time. Basic Barista Course completed with 1 full day well spent understanding the fundamental of how to get things done right in making a good cuppa using an espresso machine. Another 1 full day of understanding and how to control the variables that affect your cup of manual brew coffee. What is considered a good cup, what is not. Everyone can brew but do you know how to know if it is a balance cup? What is dry? What is bitter? How to control it to achieve the balance, clean cup? How should it taste like? Forget the taste notes you see on the pack of coffee beans you are brewing. Don't be upset if you don't get the taste notes printed on the pack. Jabatan Pertanian Johor gave a talk on coffee, the end to end process from the stage how coffee is planted up to the roasting stage. Types of coffee mainly Liberica, Robusta and Arabica. Their characteristics and taste in general. They are also into promoting Liberica coffee beans and are giving out grants to eligible candidates (farmers) who are interested to plant coffee with seedlings, knowledge and equipments. Do you know how many coffee trees can be planted in one hector of land? It's a total of 1280 coffee trees! Liberica tree needs a distance of 3mx3m while robusta 2.5m from another tree.
