Oval Kart Digest
The only (we think) print magazine focused on all forms of circle track kart racing in the USA!
Hi folks, it’s been a while. Far too long as I’m sure you’d agree.
We are actively working to get caught up. We have some very cool stories in issue 4 including one promoter who has been operating the same track for FIFTY years, and more!
With that being said, we have to re-evaluate how we put our magazine out. At this point, we will not offer year long (or however long it takes to get 6 issues) subscriptions, but we will fulfill the subscriptions already purchased. Going forward, when we release an issue. It’ll be posted and available for purchase on here.
Our goal has always been to release an issue every other month, and for the first couple issues, we had plenty of submitted content, making it easy to release issues in a timely manner. Since then, I’m assuming due to everyone being so busy with racing, running race tracks, photographing several tracks, etc, those submissions have slowed down. Our goal is to build them back up, so we can get back to releasing issues in a more timely manner.
We sincerely apologize about the delays, but now with the racing season being over, we can devote more time to getting back where we need to be.
So in case there is any confusion,
Yes, you will get every issue you have paid for. And we have every intention on keeping this magazine going for years to come.
Issue 4 is getting close to ready for printing, however we do need a bit more content to fill the magazine. If you would like to write an article, place an ad, or have pictures you would like to submit, send them over to [email protected]
We apologize about the delays in getting issues out, but everyone will receive 6 issues with their subscription, whether it takes a year or longer. We are optimistic heading into the off-season, that we’ll be able to devote more time to catching up and putting out more issues faster than before. (We both work full time jobs, plus I operate two tracks) We are always looking for more contributors. Thank you!
Brandon
Issue 3 has arrived and is being packaged for shipping at our office now!
It’s finally coming! Issue 3 has been shipped from the printer and is headed to our office. As soon as we receive it, it’ll be shipped to you! We deeply apologize about the delay and are already scrambling to get issue 4 ready and back on schedule.
If you would like to contribute (articles, photos, commentary, etc) please shoot us a message!
Here is your chance to Ask An Engineer!!
Oval Kart Digest regular contributor Ted Hamilton, who we affectionately call 'The Faster Pastor, is a thirty plus year veteran of multiple racing disciplines including karts, microds, motorcycles, and stock cars. He holds a degree in Architectural studies with a minor in mechanical engineering from PITT. In other words, dude knows his stuff!!!
Now Ted is ready to open his skull vault to questions from the great unwashed masses of OKD readers..😉 If you have a question for Ted, hit the comments section and his response will be published in a future issue of Oval Kart Digest. Oh and let's keep the questions racing based. We don't need you class clowns out there asking; Hey Ted How do they get teflon to stick to a pan or what hair color do they put on your licenseif you're bald?😆🏁
Issue 3 (May-June) is coming! It’s a bit later then we were hoping to get it out, but we should have it at the printer in the next few days! Thank you for your patience!

The OKD Asks Facebook, question for issue number three:
Outside of maintenance, what are your race day rituals and or good luck charms?
Mother nature is winning all the races here in our region of New York State. But that just means that we go right back to work on Issue 3 of OKD. There's still more than enough time to make a submission to this issue. Share a racing story or a photo or two. Place an ad to promote your business or an upcoming event. You'll find our ad rates to be surprisingly low.
Send your submissions to [email protected]
In the upcoming third issue of OKD, the surprisingly popular Track Guide feature will shine it's spotlight on the south east region. If you're in the south land would like to make certain that your home track is featured, throw up a link to an active in 2023 website or social media page.
Please post only links to dirt or asphalt oval kart racing facilities that are active and have a 2023 racing schedule posted.
