When I was obese I used the fasting month to lose weight but I actually gain weight with interest 😅

The reason being is when we don't eat our body goes into starvation mode and it stops burning the fats and reserves it. And when we break fast and have too much carbs ie. Rice it burns that instead. Since we don't really exercise during this month our body burns less calories than we consume and the rest gets stored as fats hence the weight gain.

So moral of the story is the fasting month is not a platform to lose weight...

My weight spiked over the weekend due to the birthday celebration feast I had with my wife. But I wasn't worried because I know how to lose it. All I needed to do it to get my body back into Ketosis (fat burning) mode.

Lo and behold, after just 1 day I lost it back again 😁

As I was spring cleaning my room, I found this jersey from 5 years ago still in its packaging. I have never dared to wear it because I was too fat. Being fat I had really low confidence and self esteem but now I can wear it proudly because I made a decision to have a life transformation. Alhamdulillah ❤

Wow. This was an amazing session which talks about 'Leaky Gut' which is a major issue for a lot of people. 70% of our immunity is in our gut so it make sense to take care of it by eating the right nutrition. Having an unhealthy gut can lead to anxiety, depression and even cancer.

Our Healthpointe program teaches us how to fix this issue and get our gut performing optimally by eating right and taking the right supplements. Alhamdulillah ❤

Finally found a Supermarket @ Mercearia, Plaza Shah Alam which sells this milk individually. A serving (200ml) of this +Protein milk plus my XS Whey Protein gives me a whopping 38g of protein! 💪💪

Kadang-kadang macam tak percaya tengok gambar dulu dan sekarang.

Dulu jadi obese sebab bertahun-tahun tak jaga makan dan tak bersenam. Tetapi pada akhir 2019 mendapat 'wake up call' dan terus memulakan transformasi hidup untuk keluar dari kemelut obesiti.

Alhamdulillah dengan izin Allah, istiqamah dan berbekal ilmu yang betul saya telah berjaya mengubah kehidupan kepada lebih sihat dan bermakna.

Alhamdulillah. For the past year I haven't been sick once. Not only because I am physically active but I also educated myself on what nutrition to take to bridge the gaps and keep my body performing at the optimal level.

I did an experiment to prove that we don't need extreme exercise to lose or maintain our weight. For the past 2 days I skipped my 10k daily steps and just focused on my food intake.

I just ensured that my calories that I consume is less than the calories that I burnt (BMR). But I did not starve myself. I ate 11 times a day with high quality protein and low carbs and fat so my fat burns optimally.

But we won't be able to this on a consistent basis unless we change our mindset first and form the right eating habits which is something I learnt from Healthpointe.

THE YOYO EFFECT AND HOW TO AVOID IT

A lot of people who have tried to lose weight probably can relate to this. Do you want to know why most people who lost weight but end up gaining it back?

I lost significant weight and got back in shape after my HIIT program at the gym in August 2020 (AFTER) but gained back the weight in October 2020 (AFTER AFTER).

During my stint at the gym I focused on high intensity work outs to lose weight but not so much on my diet. So when I completed my program and was not as physically active as before I started gaining weight (fat) again. This is due to the eating habits I have formed in the past and my lack of knowledge on the relationship with food.

Only after having a mindset shift and learning about good eating habits and making it habitual did I started to lose weight again and have been maintaining it for the past 4 and a half months.

A lot of us don't drink enough water. Our body is 65% water and we need to stay hydrated for our body to function at an optimal level. Warning signs of dehydration include weakness, low blood pressure, dizziness, confusion, or urine that's dark in color.

But don't just drink straight from the tap. Drink filtered water which filters of the bad stuff. We certainly don't want our kidney doing the filtering.

A 70kg person will need at least 2 liters (8 cups) of water per day.

Drinking sufficient water also makes our skin healthier and prevents premature aging. Below is a picture of me before and after I started drinking lots of water.

Did you know that you need to burn 7700 calories per week to lose 1 kg of fat? That is about 18 hours of exercise per week. But how many of us have time to spend 2.5 hours to work out daily?

Hence, extreme exercise ie. Running 10km per day is not the solution for weight loss. You first need to replace your eating habits and change your environment which triggers your cravings for unhealthy food and snacks. This comes with having a mindset shift and forming good eating habits.

A lot of people have asked me why my complexion is so radiant compared to before.

We just need to take sufficient nutrients from supplementation which most of us are not getting from our daily food intake ie. Protein and Vegetables. Also most of us are not drinking enough Water.
