It’s very important to check whether your policy has Covid-19 coverage!

We all have commitments like house loan, car loan, utilities bills, groceries. etc. and our income is the source of paying all these commitments. If one day we lose our income due to sickness, are we still able to pay for the commitments?

How sad if we are forced to use our savings which are meant for travelling, child education or retirement to pay for our commitments right?

So, if you still haven't planned for your income protection, let's take some time to plan for it!

You can DM me to assist you on your income protection plan too 😊

A better safety net for senior citizens | New Straits Times 27/01/2021

Aesop, the ancient Greek storyteller, used to say: “It is thrifty to prepare today for the wants of tomorrow.”

Last year, Ringgitplus Malaysia conducted a financial literacy survey and found that 21 per cent of Malaysians didn’t save money at all. Of this, 11.9 per cent didn’t save or admitted they spent a lot on lifestyle, including shopping and entertainment.

Another 33.7 per cent revealed their debt repayments rendered them unable to save, 29.2 per cent believed their essential expenses were too high, leaving them with too little to save, while 25.2 per cent saved only when there was enough at the end of the month. Of those surveyed, 35 per cent kept less than RM500 a month, 23 per cent saved RM501 to RM1,000, and 13 per cent RM1,001 to RM2,000. Interestingly, 89.2 per cent realized that their Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) savings are not enough for retirement.

If you can save RM20 per day, start building your retirement now! Don't only start to plan 1 or 2 years before your retirement.

PM me and I'll show you how to get guaranteed (saving) + non-guaranteed return (investment) to build your retirement fund!

✅Covid-19确诊入住私人医院能够索赔✅

只要确诊Covid-19并需要入住医院接受治疗的话,就能从医药卡的保障利益中索赔。

“They will be covered for hospitalisation under their medical plans if they are diagnosed with COVID-19 and require inpatient treatment which is medically necessary at hospitals.”

如果你的保单是很旧很旧(xN次),其中一个条款是:排除法律要求隔离的传染病 (excludes coverage for communicable diseases that require quarantine by law)。

How to choose a Medical Card?

If you are new to insurance and looking for a medical card, here's some tips for you on choosing a medical card.

#1 Annual Limit & Lifetime Limit
Annual limit is the amount that your medical card has every year while Lifetime Limit is the amount that your medical card in your whole life. You should choose a medical card with high annual limit and no lifetime limit. For eg. RM1.5mil Annual Limit and NO Lifetime limit, if you used up to RM1mil this year, you will still get anothe RM1.5mil limit in the next year.

#2 Co-insurance
Some medical card has co-insurance. That means you will need to bear part of the medical cost when you reach certain limit. For eg., if the medical card limit is RM1mil, you will need to bear 20% of the medical cost, while the insurance company only cover 80% of the bill. You will need to pay RM10,000 if your medical bill is RM50,000. So, it's very important to choose a medical card with NO co-insurance.

#3 No claim rewards
We often hear people saying they just paying for their medical insurance but never claim on it. Now, there is medical insurance that gives you rewards if you stay healthy and did not make any claim in a year.

If you still do not own any medical card, please do not ignore it, please do not wait until you have time to look for one. Because sickness always come like a theif. Don't wait until it's too late to get a medical insurance coverage!

If you need any advice on medical insurance, leave me a message!

Do you have the habit of saving?

"I just want to live in the moment. Happiness is the most important things. So spend first and plan later!"

A lot of people might have the "live in the moment" mindset. They have neglected the importance of financial planning.

Yes, happiness is indeed important. But what if unfortunate things such as you lost your job, you are sick and unable to work for a few years, etc. happen and you do not have any emergency funds prepared?

What will be your options then? Borrow money from relatives and friends? (but how much could they borrow?) Get a personal loan? (very high interest) or the most unwanted choice will be using your parents' savings (could be their retirement funds) because your parents wouldn't want to see you suffer and they will surely give you a hand!

If you haven't start saving yet, it's not too late to start now. Don't wait until you need to break your piggy bank. Saving is a long-term commitment.

"The seed you PLANT today, is not the fruit you EAT today."

Send me a message if you need advise on a customized SAVING PLAN.

Can you afford to be sick?

Medical inflation in Malaysia has been estimated to increase to about 10 to 15 percent annually, 2x - 3x higher than inflation for cost of living and based on statistics from the past 15 years, the medical inflation rate has increased by a whopping 107%.

Over the course of 15 years, the costs of medical procedures have almost doubled. For example, an open heart surgery used to cost only RM 30,000 in 2000, but in 2015, its cost has more than doubled to RM 62,000. Similarly, the cost of a single total knee replacement surgery was only RM 14,000 in 2000, but has increased to RM 25,000 in 2015.

You can refer to the pictures on the medical inflation cost for every 5 years.

Can you afford to be sick? Do you own a medical card that have enough coverage (at least 1 mil and above per year)?

"I can go to government hospital". Yes, you can but the fact is that government hospital is overcrowded, underfunded and staff is overworked. There will always be patient who need a more emergency treatment than you. During emergency, private healthcare is a more viable option.

Source: howtofinancemoney.com

It is very crucial to review your current medical card coverage! Some old medical card has only RM50,000 lifetime limit, it can be easily used up in a single treatment.

If you still do not own a medical card, it's time to really look into it. If you still do not own a medical card and also do not have enough emergency fund prepared for sickness, you MUST get a medical card! or else you might need to spend all of your savings or your family's savings for treatment. Be responsibe to yourself.
